Radioasslick, first of all those groups ALREADY were seeking an industry standard contract.

Second, do you seriously need to post the same statement in a dozen threads, many started by you? Btw, rhetorical question, no need to reply, please.

Any idea when Pilot hiring may ramp up?...not typed on the 767, but plenty of other heavy time (MD11, DC10)...I think this would be a great opportunity.

Play semantics all you want.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the first one looks like in the Amazon livery.

Soonish. I would apply at both airlines.

They're not going to have a livery...the airplanes will be nondescript. Upon signing the flight release, the captain will be handed a little lighted sign on suction cups much like Little Caesar's Pizza delivery, which he will attach to the roof just before boarding. It will say, "Amazon Airlines - operated by XXX" or some-such, only the "XXX" part will be in magnetic letters for easy later revision. The captain will be responsible for turning the sign back in at the end of the trip.

I got that from a usually-reliable source.

Amazon has an option to purchase a percentage of ATSG, in the initial agreement.

Any discounts on Amazon offered too? I would expect at least a 10% discount on all used books for affiliated pilots...

Long time lurker first time poster. Serious question as I am not too familiar with the cargo side of things. Hypothetically, if one were in the hiring pool at either UPS or FedEx, and hypothetically if said person were offered a job with one of the two, should that person consider turning it down and focusing their efforts instead on a career with ATSG? Will ATSG/Amazon be bigger than UPS and Fed Ex?

This reminds me of someone in the 1970's who may have accepted employment with TWA or Pan Am while not paying much attention to that little 737 operator known as Southwest Airlines. If I understand the article correctly, it sounds as if Amazon will very soon be the big logistics company on the block and could very well put UPS and/or Fed Ex out of business. Stranger things have happened.
