Your 100% correct however merging the list doesn't necessarily mean merge under one contract (cba). I could be wrong but that is my understanding.
We have no retirement and no Cola on our current cba. You guys are literally generations ahead of us on contracts.
I just talked to a very close friend at Atlas and I know they are moving ahead in negotiations as well. I can't fathom in my wildest imagination why we here at ATI have decided to suspend negotiations. I'm sorry for being so negative. However, my income decides everything. It decides where I live and where my kids goes to school and what activities they can do. When someone is cutting me short it gets personal real fast.

Become an activist if you want change. We can talk all we want about ATI's MEC and management but the only ones that can effect any change is the ATI crew members! Get organized, change your MEC, change your Union do whatever it takes to protect your career.
My 2 cents.

Brother the optic changed today with the Amazon/Atlas announcement. We at ABX want you guys to join us I'm tired of my friends at ATI being fed the spoonful of **** from JV and your MEC. There will be two teamster carriers and you! You guys need to be compensated accordingly with the rest of us.

One Ramp One union! Why not!
Obviously here at ATI we have suspended negotiations as not to pressure the the company in time of such change. WE ARE the lowest compensated carrier on the ramp and not by small margins.
Im starting to dislike the smell of burnt rubber and astro glide. Our pay scale unlike others doesn't have an annual COL increase. Obviously by delaying we are simply losing ground and causing our negotiating team to have a bigger hurdle to jump. All I get is emails from the company and ALPA telling me how awful the teamsters are etc etc.
I'm F'ing sick of working multiple JOBS!! To top it off I still can't make what ABX pilots make in the right seat while in the left here. Flying the SAME contracts SAME aircraft SAME freight SAME company.
I guess I need some enlightenment because Im too stupid to figure out why this is such a bad idea Plz Help

All the carriers are now tied together on two large contracts. I think we will see some solidarity on the CVG ramp.
Obviously Amazon is the next big player. However, if we don't work together -we'll- get played on this whole ordeal. You guys are right they are using scare tactics and they have been very effective. I have never in my life seen the Union and the Company using the same letter to persuade crew member's opinion.
I make the same signing the logbook of a 767 flying Amazon or DHL as someone signing for an RJ. Not only that, our pay slides backwards every year by 2-4%!! When we suspended negotiations its like giving up that 2-4%

Teamsters Local 1224, filed for mediation with the National Mediation Board (NMB) recently after Atlas Air refused to engage in any further legally-mandated negotiations. Last week the federal government accepted the request of the union representing more than 1,300 pilots flying for DHL-contracted airlines Atlas Air, Inc. and Polar Air Cargo to mediate contract negotiations with the airlines.
We pilots are on the upwind side of a perfect storm where four of DHL's heavy lift providers are all:
1. Finally on the "In-Demand" side of a worldwide pilot shortage
2. Not only in the same union, but the same local chapter of that union
3. In negotiations
4. Taking (or have taken) strike votes
5. Working in very close coordination with each other
and
6. Filled with highly qualified (and p*ssed off) pilots who are ready to give up a few pitiful years of seniority to walk over to any one of a number of other airlines that offer a real career with pay, retirement, and benefits that are standard throughout the industry.
I have flown under both ALPA and Teamsters unions and I honestly believe the cohesiveness of the pilot group and the leadership strength and skills of the MEC/ExCo matter more than the parent union. The Teamster 1224 local happens to represent ABX, Atlas, Kalitta, and Southern, so DHL is screwed if they think they can whipsaw us against one another.
I will say that the 1224 leadership has been extremely transparent with the pilots and the media. It should be fairly easy to stay abreast of the current situation with minimal effort. I don't know just how closely 1224 would work with ATI, but it would clearly be in everyone's best interest if there was a constructive dialog and coordination between our groups.
We all have a common enemy and I strongly believe that if we all hold fast to the principle of same-job=same-payscale, we will all benefit.

Just to correct what I believe to be an inaccurate statement, the Atlas Teamster 1224 ExCo is not moving ahead in negotiations. The Atlas company negotiating team actually no-showed at the last negotiating session and negotiations have been suspended. Prior to this no-show, the proposals that the company brought to the table were entire contract sections cut-and-pasted straight out of our current CBA with no changes what-so-ever.
