Atlas pilots found out about the strike at the same time ATI did. Yet no one has crossed a picket line. Just sayin... claiming ignorance is just BS. Sounds like The ATI MEC is trying to be the good sibling in the ATSG family to protect their amazing Op Specs and home basing. To my eye, it's quite blatant. I think we've all heard enough excuses frankly.

Pretty ironic that a couple of years ago ABX was willing to offer cash buyouts to up to forty of us. (I was one who took it) I'm almost surprised they haven't tried to invite us back. (Not that I'd go, mind you.) Wouldn't take long to get us back in the cockpit.

Assuming that JH does not get his TRO this afternoon, here is why I think he has his cojones in a very tight vice. The only way to end the strike is to return to the status quo. If he does that, he must then honor D6 days and vacation. He will then be unable to cover trips through the end of the year. The only way he will be able to cover those trips is if he can convince the crews to pick up the extra flying. How big a Christmas present would that take? Does he even have enough to offer? Could we be about to see one of the speediest TA's in history?
As far as ALPA's lack of support, I believe this to be very short sighted. Regardless of your political leanings, it seems safe to assume that the incoming administration is unlikely to be supportive of labor unions in general. Solidarity is going to be very important if the labor union movement is going to survive the next few years.
Opinions.

OK...let's do this R E A L L Y S L O W L Y...ready?
ABX is engaged in a LEGAL STRIKE over repeated violations of the "Status Quo."
ATI is owned by the SAME COMPANY, led by an MEC Chairman who got mad when IBT Airline Division refused to sign a "whipsaw" contract for ATI with the parent; ATSG.
Jon Prater told Mongo (the MEC CHairman) that if he decerted the IBT, he...THE ALPA PRESIDENT...A LABOR UNION PRESIDENT...would SIGN the agreement, that would ALLOW PILOT GROUPS TO BE WHIPSAWED.
Now...during a LEGAL STRIKE...the MEC Chairman who wanted a whipsaw contract, and the PRESIDENT of ALPA are hiding in the bushes, waiting to see if a Judge will side with them...AND MANAGEMENT.
That's the long form. Here's the short form.
They (ALPA leadership) are COWARDS. Any ALPA pilot who thought they would be supported in their hour of need should be rethinking that.
Cowards...who are lying to their pilots and telling them it's OK to cross a legal picket line.
COWARDS...who are home in Delta land for the holidays...while trade unionists are walking the line standing tall and standing up for ALL PILOTS.
To the ALPA pilots supporting ABX; regardless of who and where...don't worry. When your time comes, Teamster Airline Division pilots WILL be there, standing the line with you, our trade union brothers and sisters.
