Mine is about $95/mo (old contract) including dental so I guess it depends on your particular situation.

Is that just for you or wife as well? How are the copays and deductibles? Is it through BCBS or United health?

So I guess that isn't bad right? $400/mo for the family is pretty good compared to what's out there.
Is it pretty good discount on UAL or just some number the company worked out for the pilots and families? Is it valid international as well? Thanks for the feedback my man. For some people this is silly but almost my whole family lives outside of the US so I'm just wanting to make sure I can get some family time every once in a while. |

For those of us Americans lucky enough to have health insurance, the avg family monthly premium is about $830, with the avg family yearly deductible about $8000.

What vacation benefits does Omni have? How many days/weeks per year for what ever length of employment?
Can someone explain the "override days?" I realize the contract is new, but should one expect to work 16 or 18 days a month? Do you travel to on day 1 or day 0? What about travel home? How are schedules bid? Is there a variety of flying on all lines or are there lines that are more desirable due to destinations or specific days off? Do you get 1 in 7s or are there layovers that count as duty free days? How many lines are split into two (or more) periods and how many are straight through? Can you get (or stuck with) back to back duty periods or off periods to get more days off in a row? Is there any such thing as a typical line, and what does it look like? Since it sounds like breaking mins is a rare occurrence, are there reserve days or just end up some where until needed? Is Omni still doing the TDY to Portugal, I think it was, or any similar long term TDY? Feel free to point me to another post if there is current info elsewhere. I'm slowly working through the threads for info to find what as much info as I can, and as I said, I understand there may be things that the answer is still unknown. I don't mind going anywhere in the world for as long as the company wants me to go, I'm just trying to get an idea of what that might look like and have some good answers if I'm asked "What do you know about Omni?" Thanks |
Vacation:
Years 1-6 = 12 days/year Years 7-9 = 14 days/year Years 10+ = 18 days/year Override Days: You are scheduled for 18 days with a 64 hour guarantee. If the company uses you (meaning, either away from your home base or on short call reserve at home) on day 17 and 18 you earn an extra 3.56 hours above guarantee per day. So if you are gone ALL 18 days you get paid 71.12 hours for the month. Schedules: You pretty much bid days off. Schedules are built either 18 days in a row or in blocks of two with off days in the middle of the month. Some lines are split with 9 on and 6 off. Some lines have "known" flying put on them, most are just all reserve days. Plan to go to work for 18 days in a row. 36 if your lines for 2 months butt up to each other, but it's rare for that to occur unintentionally. Required rest periods are done wherever you are in your hotel. TDYs: Currently none. And they are now for only 60 days (was 90). |
