These guys are supposed to be the foundation, the structure, of the company. But they are rotted out.
After clicking on the link posted by tiredsoul, proves the point. Histoy is telling, isn't it.
Only the FAA can put a stop to the conditions these people have allowd. Rotten to the core....

The FAA
DOES NOT REALLY CARE. Miami and 36th street have always been this way. You think the carriers there now are bad, you should have been back during the Rich, Fine, Arrow, Millon, days. Watching a Connie barely cleary LeJune heading right toward the city, was a sight I tells ya! I know it seems bad but as I have said it could always be worse. There are a lot of scabs still lurking in Miami and like cockroaches, they find a way to survive! This includes working in Miramar. Keep in mind, they have to keep certificates alive to keep their jobs and people are employed by all these "outfits"! It sucks, it always has and always will. Miami is that one place where you can go when you are out of money and had a few DUIs, or you go to get some time in an old clunker, hope you don't die, and move on!

I'm on our ERC. I didn't mean the FAA would act on it personally. However, the surely can and do act on it with regards to your airline.

you should’ve made an immediate call about it and stepped off the plane. Not only because of the bags but the unsafe and unprofessional attitude of the captain.
once you stay on you are knowingly busting rules and then an ASAP or nasa report can’t help you
just curious was this a MIA captain

How is that working out. Obviously not good. Why have they been unable to get rid of the Speaks guy, the one referred to as the village idiot, the guy that gives 35 kt wind v1 cuts, the last DO that was trying to move them out, he himself was pushed out. Folks, I have been here long enough to know what this company was, as compared to what it is now. Right now, the foundation has rotted out. That why I am in agreement with the previous poster that this company needs to be recertified.
Only the FAA can make this happen. Just wish more people would speak up. Not only in Flt Ops, but all the other departments. The company can, and will be recertified.

The FAA, will not "re-certify" the Certificate. It doesn't work that way. They can issue Compliance Actions, like the one you guys are suggesting is circulating around referencing illegal crew scheduling practices, OR they can move forward with some type of enforcement, meaning they shut down Departments, let's say the Training Department, until they prove to the regulator that they've corrected their fault(s) and show a process and procedure to avoid committing those same faults in the future, all under their SMS Program. This can happen with one or more Departments simultaneously. Only if the Administrator can prove that the Safety of the entire operation is at risk, then they can actually halt the entire operation. It's a game, and these bottom dwellers know how to play it very well unfortunately. Keep writing your ASAP's, WBAT safety reports (I assume you have this safety program), fly by the book, do not be complacent. It takes a good pair of cojones to stand up to the status quo, metal moving corrupt individuals. As long as you fly legal, no Management Team would ever dare to touch you. AIR21 Whistle blower Program is also a great, but extreme resource.

The Safety of the operation IS at risk.
MX department is the backbone of any airline. This is the cause of 90% of the emergencies, air turn backs, etc.. heck they released the airplane that recently had a hard landing in Wendover. When the crew did the walkaround, they found parts of the landing gear were missing, along with other issues. The pictures are circulating.
Training Department.
There was a guy they brought in, and was making good progress, they just got rid of him. Replaced him with a guy that had a tailstrike about 6 months ago, as a mater of fact, they were 2 guys with tail strikes within that period of time. Different people. Covered up, pushed under the rug. Then they brought one / him back to become the Dir. Training. Go figure that one out.
But yes indeed, it has to be proven.
I totally agree with you. Guys should fly by the book. Write it up, where it brakes. They will not be thankfull, especially the one time you dont. File tha ASAP's, Safety reports, directly to the FAA hotline website, and request wistle blower protection. The link is above.
I cannot continue to post on this site, and remain employed here. They are trolling the site, and will soon figure out who I am. I am almost ready to go.
But hopefully some more of us will speak up, and help put a stop to these unsafe conditions, before something bad happens.
