Eastern is hiring

I am just re-posting this. I don’t work for them and have no additional information. I do know that they are the reincarnation of Dynamic Airways an are doing scheduled charter. Anthony Tirri is the Chief Pilot.

Friend whose brother is there on the 76 says their nose is barely above water. Who knows how they'll end up a year from now.

At the bottom of their home page is a link, titled "Join Our Team." it takes you to the job listings on a workforcenow page. There are separate listings for applying for the 737, 767, or 777.

Well now….that’s an interesting read.
So 73 DEC apparently requires:
Minimum Qualifications:
• Minimum of 7000 hours total flying time – only time in the operating seat of a turboprop and/or turbojet aircraft can be counted.
• Minimum of 2000 hours PIC time on multi-crew, multi-engine, commercial aircraft.
• Previous experience must include wide-body aircraft PIC time, preferably on the B767 or B777.

WTF would you apply for a 73 position if you actually hold those requirements 😂

Beats me. Someone applying there may be unhirable elsewhere, or have somethign going on that makes looking elsewhere either unlikely or undesirable. Could be someone is after a specific kind of flying; maybe they'd prefer the 737 flying vs. 777 long haul. Maybe the company is simply screening, or actively discouraging, or whatever the policy falvor of the day might be. Perhaps someone simply copied and pasted from another vacancy and didn't think too much of it, such as a non-pilot who didn't understand the implications. I never guess or assume, so whatever the rationale, what's posted, is posted.
I don't have any affiliation with Eastern, but another poster couldn't navigate to the bottom of the page and find the job link, so I provided it for him.

I think there are a lot of reasons that applicants go for the ACMI carriers. I've seen considerable shiny jet fever from regional guys, and I've seen quite a few pilots who came from a string of jobs where they were never a PIC, looking for big airplane time...and I've seen a few who did nothing but hop around collecting type ratings. I've seen a few who clearly falsified their resume and lacked the little experience they claimed, and couldn't fly their way out of a wet paper bag (or fly straight and level, for that matter). There are those who never failed a checkride, but who don't have what I'd call a shiny history. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing stands out.
There are also those who absolutely will not commute on their own, who prefer home basing, and see it as a massive component of their quality of life. I can't disagree.
If someone is stuck in a F/O position somewhere and feels stagnated, the chance to go get direct-entry as a captain in a 777 or 767, or even 737, may be an attractive choice. After all, how many of us got into aviation to be a copilot?
There are quite a few who prefer the ACMI lifestyle, too, who like the variety, the variable locations, trips, etc. Some would rather have a life in which two days are never the same.
