Uncomfortable no, saddened yes. There's taking an objective look at your own world and then there's doing what YOU do; go to some other company's forum boards and kick people when they're down. A quick hit, then you're on to the next forum. This is your to be you modus operandi. Does that make you feel better about yourself? Apparently...

Default The Fat Lady

Biscayne probably will liquidate within the next 30-60-90 days. There's really nothing left. Keep pouring money into a sinking ship is just silly. Truthfully, the accident did Biscayne in. This was just the final shove off the cliff. Someone might take the military contracts but that's about it. Stranger things have happened in the world of Miami but I think it's over. The parent company is terrible and should not have gotten into the irline bi-iness. YES, THE SCAB THAT RUNS IT IS THE WORST PART!

Hey Guys... New to the forum here but not new to furloughs and Chapter 11... Let me say that as one who has been in the industry for over 20 years and furloughed many times, the FAT LADY at Miami Air has not yet sung! While I cannot deny some of the above quote, there's a reason the doors have not yet closed and our financier has been bailing the company out for the last month or so... And it's not because they think MAI is suddenly going to become profitable. There have been sharks circling the sinking ship, one of them is going to bite very soon. The current situation is unsustainable even in the short run for a company that has been sucked dry with zero cash reserves yet pays a hefty price to it's holding company. Keep in mind that MAI liquidated is worth nothing since there are no assets to speak of except and operating certificate that is also worthless if it ceases to operate. This business, however poorly run by whomever has been making money for nearly 30 years and never declared bankruptcy. It's value lies in it's product. Stay tuned!

Swift has wanted their assets since before Iaero.

Talking Welcome BigFlyr738

Hope your right cause Swift, and apparently it’s NOT true, would not be good for the Biscayne folks. Now I think it may get sold to ATSG and merged into ATI or Omni. There may be some Amazon flying subsequent to that as I do not believe Sunny and/or Mesa can handle it. MAI has the crews and resources to do it right now! MAI flew the 400s sometime ago. What does that mean for the furloughees, who knows. ABX has been hiring as has Atlas,UPS and Ameriflight. I think the madness will end soon and there will be some jobs just not at the U.S. majors. Hope good things are in the future for at least the MAI crews. Good luck and thanks for chiming in.

What makes you think Sunny can’t handle it?

Default Because

It's nothing personal against Sunny but the attempt to try and fly 10 800s all of sudden seems like a far reach. It sounds like Sunny is financially in trouble because of it's business model and this damn covid thingy. A number of sources have said that Sunny won't be able to handle the Amazon contract just because there are a lot of penalties associated with performance.

Again, nothing against Sunny or it's crews. Hell, maybe it's Sunny that buys MAI!

Good luck to everyone

So is anyone going to enforce the CBA with Miami Air?

If Miami Air is gone, who will cover all the sports team charters? It seems like all the businesses that specializes in this market are taking a significant hit.
