They changed short-call some after Part 117 started. We have no visibility on how often people are getting called out, but a scheduler told me it's happening more often. But it also seems as if there are fewer people sitting it at one time, too.

Gotcha, sounds all good…Just need a phone call!!! I emailed the CP with my resume and let him know that I'm willing and wanting to move to south florida. Have plenty of time in many different planes and international time. All one can do is wait and see!

Another question looking on flight aware, I only see one or two flights a day. Is this all you guys are doing, or are there more operating overseas that are not showing up?

There's about a dozen+ flights each of the next few days. Mostly domestic & Canada, nothing else outside the western hemisphere.

Miami Air TDY

Can someone explain the following Miami Air item?:

Frequent TDY base in Amsterdam, Leipzig and Bucharest

1. How long are your TDY assignments?
2. Do you get to keep your personal items at your TDY location? In other words, do you have to pack all your stuff for each trip?
3. Is there language in your contract regarding TDY?

In comparison, Omni has a 90 day TDY!!! Gone from home the entire 90 days. They are required to check out of their Spain TDY assignment for each trip. Alas, there is little if any financial incentive to bid this TDY, thus it has gone Junior Assignment.

Omni negotiations are beginning soon and this item is a sore spot. Just wanting to see what "industry standard" is out there.

Bump....anyone?

Leipzig & Bucharest were for military troop movements, so we're not likely to go back there anytime soon. Amsterdam is on for this summer.

Our TDYs are normally 30 days. I wasn't here for any of the ones in the past, so I can't answer detail questions, but I'm 99% sure they left their stuff in the rooms.

TOYs are covered in the contract in Section 14. Both Omni and Miami Air are IBT local 1224, so the contracts should be available for review thru the local.

That would be interesting (and helpful), but I wasn't aware that 1224 members could view anyone's contract but their own. Can someone confirm?

To clarify, my original intent was that your negotiating committee would have access, given the way you phrased your original question. But then I went back to the 1224 member site. Yes, members can see the contracts of the other 1224 carriers. They're under the Resources tab, then Document Library.
