I sure hope so. I've been in the pool since February.

Classes have been going constantly for a long time... probably for the past 6+ years.

Newhire classes on the 777 are starting now too.

Since the original questions were answered, what flight times are people getting hired on/ swimming with?

I'm not sure. It varies. we take a lot of experienced people from places like ATA who have a lot of experience both in the airplanes and in the type of operation. But we get some folks from regional carriers too. Don't know about total time they have, but people need to have a fair amount of experience because once on the line you are basically kicked out into the world on your own to find your way to wherever you need to fly to, from one place you've never heard of to another. So it is much more challenging flying than at a scheduled carrier, and requires a more seasoned applicant most of the time. Or at least someone who can step up quickly and get the job done. Nobody sits in the right seat very long, so we can't take people with as little experience as the majors can accept.

Is that why no turbojet or PIC, or even an ATP, is required to be hired at Omni? Are you a pilot interviewer/recruiter, there?

I said this on the other "Omni" page. I'm a measly regional FO. I have no PIC turbine and even though I've been an FO since 06 I had a company awarded vacation (furlough). So my TT is not that high. a little over 3K TT and Turbine is around 2K. Just be persistent and often on the apps, that's the only advice I have.
