The above quote is from the Kirotv.com report.
Like Toledo, I am thinking:
Those are just questions that come to mind. It could be exactly what happened, but the plot does have characteristics of a complete surprise.
Like Toledo, I am thinking:
- Why was Joey loaded with a gun when he’s off to South America (and keeping it loaded in his car?)
- Where was he going to ‘park’ his weapon when he flew off to South America next day?
- How a retired (older than sixty years), physically weak guy pistol-whipped a 43-year old Texan (ok, ok, I don’t know how strong the Omni pilot is) who is in the backseat nonetheless and physically disabled him (…slumped over).
- This guy just happens to be a retired airline pilot (sure, a possibility)
- Joey just happens to be staying at the same hotel (possible)
- Joey just happens to be carrying a loaded gun while on the way to South America (yes, that’s a possibility too as he could simply check that in with his luggage after declaring it. I don’t know the laws in South American country if you one can bring weapons in from the US?)
Those are just questions that come to mind. It could be exactly what happened, but the plot does have characteristics of a complete surprise.

This is all so far out of character for this individual that I'm certain there's more to the story beyond the media's sensationalism.

Hmmmmm, just wondering what the reactions on here would have been IF the person arrested had been a flight attendant, other airline employee, or better yet a TSA agent.
(hypocrisy, much??)

Yes, I'm cool---but the only "agenda" I have is to point out hypocrisy when I see it. You dudes ALWAYS make excuses when it's one of your own, but God forbid it's anyone without the halo and wings. I'm tired of reading and hearing "it's totally out of character", blah blah blah. Would you have been as forgiving if the person he did this to was a family member? Suppose he had killed a pedestrian or other driver during his short joy ride (and if that person was also someone close to you!)
For you to also turn it on the retired DL pilot is either really funny or really sad. Try being totally honest with yourselves once in a while. Being that drunk, or screwed up on Ambien or any other substance to the point of not knowing what you're doing is not only unprofessional but inexcusable.

I am not against FA having access to KCM, but I am not for it either. I understand why many do not want them though. I can think of way more FAs I am nervous about using that system than pilots. To this day I have never had a pilot ask me if I have any cocaine or get nervous because customs wants to search the aircraft, but I have flown with two FAs who did that.
What does that have to do with my post? No response to the valid points and observations I made? Interesting, but not surprising.

As much as you grind that ax, one would think you would be satisfied with the edge by now.
