With the United announcement coming Tuesday, focusing on fleet upgrades and customer service. What are the odds something coming out of this announcement will affect old 50 seaters? Is this United’s chance to completely re-imagine even the regional fleet too? Like Delta has done with theirs. Hopefully it’s nothing too immediate but they’ve done worse.

I was thinking about this as well. Might be a tough sell unfortunately, starting a new jet program if C5 is already having some issues at the moment. Worried they might find it easier to close up shop.

All United has to do is play the same card as American with its regionals. Tell C5 to get a better contract ASAP or flying will shift even more. Maybe this thread should be renamed to “C5 shrinking” due to the pilot attrition that’s in full swing, even more so EWR closing, and flights/hours being given away daily to other carriers.
