Looks like they bought the certification plane.

But unless the other regionals give up their 170s there’s no room in UAL scope for any more.

Pretty sure the FFD contracts will allow all of the parked 170s that United owns/leases back or otherwise controls to be shifted. But time will tell. This could all be a ruse to help with recruitment yet every United base I fly to, especially IAH has a pleathora of 175s sitting idle. I imagine Scooter would prefer to see those flying. All 27 parked E175’s are United owned according to the FAA.Originally Posted by JohnnyBekkestad

That's an adequate fleet. You can offer 100K for Mesa DEC's.Originally Posted by zondaracer

The question is whether or not those parked 170s are PART OF the maxed-out 76-seater scope number, or outside of it. Originally Posted by tallpilot

If they're PART of it, then they *could* be sent to C5, I suppose.
If they're not, then they can't go anywhere, because UA is maxed out on 76-seaters that its scope allows.
70/76 seat scope was maxed out before the announcement that Mesa would be flying the 900’s for United. My guess is many of those parked 175’s are aircraft that had to be parked on a 1 for 1 basis as the 900’s came over.
