I'm aware of at least 4 DECs in the last six months but I believe that number is higher. There are also CA-qualified sim instructors who, at my last trip to the TC, were waiting for OE for the line.

There have been consistent FO upgrade classes though.

Heard a rumor that two Sim instructors just left. How would this affect training schedules?

Depends on which two left. Might have improved things.

They're called dispatchers.

My friend at mesa who was there for 6 years said he NEVER had to use the 7347 (or whatever its called) rule. Or ever have to derive mins. It was a very hard concept to grasp in my initial new hire training, and I still dont have a good understanding on it lol. I think the "when do we need a second alternate, how to derive mins, 74347 rule" and all that gets people a lot of stress in studying.

Yeah looking back on this comment I really wish I could’ve deleted it. I didn’t know any better when I made it. Cringe.

Curious if Commute Air is currently hiring FOs and what the timeline looks like from Interview to Indoc?

As far as I know, hiring isn't happening through the end of the summer. I had a buddy interview in mid January and he's now scheduled for an August date but I wouldn't feel honest calling it a 7 month wait. I would still say keep that app updated and if you can come to the table with ATP-CTP already completed, they will take you much more quickly. I know 2 guys who got placed in the next available class post-interview because they got their CTP course done outside of the company. My best guess is that this trend will continue as spots open up.

It appears that the company is hiring FOs, but as others have written, it is at least 6 months if not longer, and I would expect hiring to be much more competitive than it was in the recent past. The captain imbalance is still getting worse. I'm not sure what management's strategy is, or even if they have one, but I wouldn't be surprised if FO hiring slows down even more or stops.
