They were in the January 2016 class and finished up ground about two weeks ago.

I feel like while you CAN go to UA outside of your flow, it may be more difficult to do at C5 than another carrier because UA would be reluctant to pull pilots from one of their feeders earlier than scheduled...just my opinion though.
I don't see why United would be reluctant in hiring CommutAir's pilots off the street. United hires pilots from Expressjet, Mesa, gojet, TSA and they are all feeders for United. So what makes CommutAir different?

That you would already part of the Career Path Program. The purpose of the program is to keep CommutAir staffed while providing an avenue to United. Hiring off the street outside of it just undermines the program.

From a pilot perspective however, take the first United offer any way you get it.

I was in the January 4th class and haven't heard about any of my classmates getting an upgrade call. There were a few prior part 121 guys in there, myself included.

It's the most junior pilot on the list right now so you can probably ask them if you want to verify. I heard this from one of our captains that is friends with that individual and I don't have any reason to believe that they would lie to our pilot group.

Interesting. Not trying to call you out or anything, but we (Jan 4th class) just got out of ground school last week. I hope you're right.

He is right. The only reason you possibly didn't get a call is if you are in a later sim block and won't be done in time to start upgrade in March.

Pretty sweet man. Yeah my partner and I opted for the later sim dates. I'm most likely gonna wait for upgrade until I can hold the ERJ. We'll see. Even if I did want to upgrade on the Dash right away I'd probably prefer to have at least a little time in the airplane before I jumped to the left seat. Especially since I've never touched a turboprop before.

Amazing! So basically we are down to 2 month upgrade!! Crazy how quick things change. Last year we were at 2 year upgrades now 2 months! Good luck to everyone taking the quick upgrades. Good opportunity for people getting hired on with 1000 121 time to pretty much upgrade immediately
