We are fat on FOs right now. So a lot sitting in ewr. Captains are flying non stop. They have almost all but stopped hiring FOs to help shift this imbalance. Positive is this isn’t like envoy where you sit for a year reserve... which the company does not want it to be. Reserve for fos right now 4-6 months, but keeps changing. A bunch of captain upgrades coming from the FO side in November through the spring. I’d anticipate the balance shifting in coming months.

Wow. When I interviewed there they said "Max of one month on reserve in EWR."
Times change. Commutair didn't have the 4-5 months of training like XJT did over the summer, but that much reserve (including airport ready reserve, yech) is a tough sh|tburger to eat for so long. Hang in there. Are they at least going to extend the "captain pay after two years" part of the contract for you?

It is definitely not 4-6 months.

There are quite a few approaching that year mark, and flying way less than you would at Envoy. Only 5-15 hours and FOs not consolidating.
