Any idea how long it would be to hold DEN if you went to Skywest?

Did I say anything untrue?

No?

Didn’t think so.

Oh, and what exactly would make one disgruntled?
Treating pilots like garbage with extensions every week? Being downgraded and only flying FO trips? Having to fight for correct pay? Stuff like that? Yeah...

Living in base is priceless. No bonus / pay will be able to make up for that. Go with whatever regional allows you to drive to work.

DEN at OO is about 6-8 months for new hire FO with 3 of those months spend in training / IOE.

Grumpy?
Getting paid $25,000 a year more without being extended, downgraded, or dealing with C5 BS?? Nahhhh. I’m quite content.

It sounds more like you have an axe to grind and were unhappy with a decision that you previously made. That would be disgruntled.

I am glad that you finally got somewhere that you like.

He is keeping a seat warm for you , it would take almost 4 years at Jet Blue FO pay to surpass first and second year captain pay here.

I want to echo what several of the others have said. If you make a choice to commute and have a good attitude to make the best of it, it's doable (though tougher hub to hub, competing with mainline UA pilots for the jumpseat).

You would have better pay and quicker upward movement here. However, there is a lot of "stuff" you would have to put up with here, more so than other places. I still contend if you are new to 121 and willing to put up with lots of "stuff" here, this is a good place to start your career.

If quality of life is important, you don't mind waiting a little longer to upgrade and can be based closer to home (if that is out west), I would choose elsewhere.

Feel free to PM if you have more questions.

Commuting is acceptable (especially if you live in a city that has a ton of daily flights in/out) to work for a good airline. It’s better t commute to a good regiona than to live in base at one that isn’t.
