I doubt much has changed within the training department itself, remember a lot of this is all FAA Approved so there won't be much in the way of change from when I went through.
If housing is still the same, you are being placed at the Extended Stay in Eagan. Personal thoughts aside, GP Mediums on catpoles with Gen III Goretex sleeping bags was the cat's ass compared to this place. That said, it is a company paid hotel during training. Holidays aside, it's like any other day. Welcome to the airlines, if you get time great, if not, drink water and drive on.
Definitely a gentleman's course. No one is going to be yelling at you, or shouldn't be, but they also don't have a tiptoe through the tulips attitude. If you **** up, admit it , learn from it, and move on. No one got this stuff right on the first go...and there is always something you can learn from these guys. If my knuckledragging ass can get through the course as a new airline pilot, it is NOT difficult.
Take time every day to go over limitations, memory items, profiles, and callouts, and you ll be just fine. I usually spent a half hour at breakfast going over things with my sim partner. You get to chose yours, so like the old codger in the Last Crusade, Choose Wisely! LOL.
Take it meal time to meal time, sleep time to sleep time, and spend time for yourself, like exercising, reading, vegging out to the TV, whatever, just so you have some down time to vent and release some steam. This is incredibly crucial during your first three weeks, since 90 percent of it is death by powerpoint.
Best of luck!

Yes walk up and tell them you'd like to list for jumpseat. Make sure you have your badge ready. The ALPA website and app have a jumpseat guide for each airline because some require you to list online. You can go on the compass webpage and there are instructions for listing online since it requires you to login with a compass airlines jumpseat account.

If you are riding on a jump seat pass, the generally accepted etiquette is to introduce yourself to and request a ride from the captain, even if there is a cabin seat available.
