Compass Updates 2: Revenge of the Sit

He taxied there.....
I got that from the Horizon thread
Possibly with the parking brake on? Just what I picked up from the other thread. A pilot on tower said they saw a lot of smoke from the wheels.
It will be interesting to see if anything changes. Simple lock type device would do the trick. Could happen every day, but generally people are able to rationalize not doing this sort of thing. Unfortunate that this guy was struggling so badly. He could have had a good chance living if he ditched it I think.

If he knew how to start the engines, take them out of feather, take off the gust lock etc. I can't imagine he wouldn't know to release the parking brake....He pushed the plane back himselfm which means he had to release the parking brake to hook it up, push it, reset parking brake, and disconnect.

Does anybody know if there is a deliberate work slowdown happening with the ground crews in Seattle lately? I have had so many issues lately with them and their actions seem to be only attributable to a willfull attempt to be slow and cause problems.

They’ve told me they had a lot of sick calls and are short staffed.

What would be the best base to commute to from SLC? It looks all three bases have ~10 flights a day from SLC. I am leaning toward SEA since I tend to gravitate to colder climates, but LAX is a bigger base. I'm not sure what things to consider since I'm new to the airlines. Any advice is appreciated!
