If so, republic does not allow flaps 4 as an intermediate setting on approach as there are no approach warnings as it's strictly a takeoff setting.

And we recently adopted this stupid "Flaps X, Set Vapp, landing checklist". There has also been a few other things over the last year that we have changed that you guys were already using.
Republic buyout confirmed.

Or the right cheek is lower than the left... who has lop sided glutes? Or sits on the right cheek more than the left... come on, even out the sitting pressure!!

This is one of the dumbest things I have heard in a long time.

We used to use flaps 4 but now it’s a no no. Landing with ice speeds and ATC trying to slow you down can cause a big headache hence why a lot of us used to it. Now I guess those slow to 160 is gonna be met with a lot of unables especially as we get into the winter months. I guess you just throw out the gear and go to flaps 5? Just don’t forget to set them to full for landing by 1000 feet if you have to do a flaps full landing.

He was being sarcastic due to the YX pilot saying they’ve adopted some call outs and flows CPZ uses.

I have 2 pet peeves at this airline.

When guys ask for flaps full numbers in SNA..

Oh, so you want to use an unfamiliar flap setting that will guarantee you float past your point because of the wonky deck angle, then slam it on like you’re trying to catch the third wire at the very end of the TDZ? Definitely better than putting it down smooth and right on the markers with flaps 5. Those 4 extra knots slower on Vap are definitely worth it

That, and slapping the boards out/stowed. You can take 2 extra seconds and not freak out every passenger on the plane. Flying 101, those 78 people in the back are more important than that cool feeling you get when you nonchalantly slap that lever

Hahaha. Thanks slowhawk for sharing. Next time we fly I'm totally doing a flaps full at every airport lol. Jk.

I'm also gonna start slapping the boards closed if we fly again, except when I do it I'll proudly say "hells-yeah, son!"

Dont worry, my pet peeves are on the new hire advice thread I think if you wanna get me back .

Thanks for laughs this morning
