Well... I hate to see folks lose flying but if the writing is on the wall, I hope to see you guys move up to better places than the regionals.

That said, if anyone wants to consider CommutAir PM me. 50k is the going bonus for new hires with 1000 121.

How about this for a new rumor, reading over in the cargo section of the forums Southern Air is having a hard time staffing their 737 flying for amazon. rumor is Mesa might try picking some of it up, but what if Compass tossed their hat in the ring and we all got 73 types.

Hopefully compass wouldn’t undercut the industry like Mesa is going to do. Don’t even wish for that to happen. You can grab at straws but don’t grab for that one. No bueno.

If that was true management wouldn’t have told us to sit tight for “new opportunities” for a few weeks when the draw down starts in a couple months. If it’s crickets in a few weeks from and more stringing along then I agree with your statement.

"New opportunity" could be a flow to Skywest.

For the new situation to be United you guys, you would need to take flying from another carrier, so there would be 9 carriers but someone would become a lot smaller with UA. The new UA 175 20 w/ option for up to 39 are going to replace something due to scope. The Mesa 175’s were supposedly renewed, but the 700’s (about 20) could be retired or turned into the CRJ 550. Nothing has been rumored about the Mesa gaining the 550 from what I’ve heard.

So I would wait to hear about whatever this Mesa 737 cargo situation. GoJet is not hearing much on when the 550 will be operated, and United could be having second thoughts on the whole situation. This is far from over.

Wouldn’t be the first time a company blew smoke to their employees.

Can’t argue with that

This is my thinking as well. They asked for a couple of weeks - I can do that.

If they then ask for a couple more weeks that'll be the Master Warning. The QRC for that is pretty short - pull the ejector handle.

I feel this is obligatory at this point:

Greetings Compass Aviators

Today our union was informed that we lost our nabisco contract. While there are many negative affects of this change, perhaps the most damaging is that we will no longer be eating the beloved oreo minis or enjoying oversized water bottles. The good news is...... Anyway, your union is hard at work standing by with you. We recommend taking the extra 5 minutes in your day as we move forward to take in what's left of our delta snack baskets, pun intended. I have great confidence that I will be out of compass before this loss affects me personally. Until then, eat snacks and fly your contract!

In unity,

BLS
MEC chair, snack basket committee

Please direct all questions to our new vice chair, Brendon
