If ALPA's lawyers don't fix this problem (the sick time payout) I will be starting a class action lawsuit, and I'm sure there's a lot of other pilots who will be on the same page as me.

How I picture the morning briefing - Alright guys let’s furlough early... no no don’t we don’t have a reason so just keep ‘em in the dark like we have since October. Supreme Leader is posting a heart throbby memo later which should keep them at bay. Scheduling, can you send out some open time emails? Is payroll here? Where’s PAYROLL? lol sick time payouts... ****in suckers fell for it. Anyways, chop chop we got jobs to cut.

What we all all figured - adjusted guarantees to those affected by the surprise accelerated furlough. They should be sued
To the lurkers: this basically sums up what's going on

I honestly don't believe that the company could have screwed up the shutdown this bad on accident. It seems obvious at this point that this it is a deliberate plan, by top management, to try and claw as much money as possible that is owed to the pilot group, the flight attendants and other frontline employees. I have truly enjoyed the years I have spent working here (in spite of all the landmines that upper management seems to have deliberately hit along the way) and all the people I have had the chance to meet and work with. It really leaves an awful taste in my mouth looking aback at the last three weeks and seeing how a once great airline was able to fall so far so fast! Now I'm left just wanting it to be over so that we can all just move on and be done with this whole charade.

A lot of this shutdown was completely uncontrolled. American controlled everything and they ran around like chickens with their heads cut off. Today was supposed to be our last day and with no notice American started barking orders to move planes to AVQ. It was a sad ending...BUT - for those who care SoCal will be announcing the last flight and fire rescue will go over all frequencies at lax and make announcement with water cannon salute. 15:32 lax local. Or whenever xna-lax arrives.
