You guys do realize that you do not need either an ATP or type rating to get hired or get the bonus at Compass right?

I didn't. I was just going off what he had said.

Is anybody having a problem using the Apple message app on the iPhone to get company email? It had been working just fine for a couple months since the switch over. Just a couple days ago it has started givinging me an error about not connecting to server.

Yeah. I had it setup on my personal IPad and started to get a "Password Incorrect" message. Though, if I open on the browser, it works fine. Go figure...

just use the outlook app

GrassstripflyerZSE 10-09-2015 01:24 PM

It kicked me out the other day and I just re-entered all the information and it worked again. Not sure it'll work for you.

I had the same issue. I just gave up and use the Outlook app now. If you get a fix let me know!

I'm astonished someone went from SEA to LA.

I talked to several LA commuters who tried SEA thinking they might get a better line or have an easier commute, most are going back. SEA base is still pretty weird, and getting stuck with all the FAI stuff now.

Once all the AA aircraft are online, and those new cities open up the lines aught to be better. Much better

Is anyone here commuting SLC to LAX? Are there a lot of flights available? Are there a bunch of guys making the commute?

Passrider.com shows 13 directs per weekday over a few airlines. Doesn't look too bad. I don't do the commute but i know dl has bene full on that route when I've considered 2 legging it.

I flew with someone who does it and said it was very difficult. Hub to hub is never a good idea.

I can imagine due to passenger loads not jumpseaters. Lax and slc almost have identical aircraft bases for Delta.

G450driver 10-12-2015 01:27 PM

Are the Compass payscales on APC still accurate? 25 bucks an hour? Please advise. Thank you.

Yeah, plus a 10k signing bonus.

GrassstripflyerZSE 10-12-2015 01:55 PM

Year one is more like $25.54 and will be $25.86 on 1 Jan. It's in the contract, that can be found here:
Compass MEC > Home

APC isn't always accurate, nor is Aero crew news.

Any idea if there are a lot of guys making that trip? I'm sure there are quite a few SkyWest pilots wanting to live in SLC and are commuting to their LAX base as well. Does Compass have flights direct between the two bases that would be schedule-able via their 10 day jumpseat policy?

Allegiant flies from Provo, Utah to LAX, has anyone had any experience jumpseating with them? Their flights aren't often enough to use everytime, but just curious.

Not sure if we do slc-lax but I know a guy that does the commute and he says it isn't bad

I heard the same-not bad at all. Southwest has 2 cockpit jumpseats and all WN employees can sit in the extra FA jumpseats. Oh and Skywest doesn't have priority on southwest jumpseats ;)
I did the allegiant Provo flight once it was empty. Crew treated me very well.

Does Compass have some priority on Southwest for jumpseats?

Haha no. It's first come first serve. Hence why it's a great commuter airline. Only one that can bump you is a southwest employee.

spikemath 10-13-2015 09:18 AM

I didn't think so, but the wording made it sound a little gray. Thanks.

Side note, and I know it's been asked before: does Compass have any sort of route map? Just curious of what lines they fly.

Passenger jet aborts takeoff when car makes wrong turn onto LAX runway - LA Times

Somedays there are way too many cars driving around LAX. Nice job to the crew and ATC.

I just made this map. Was time consuming so I hope it's accurate.

I deleted KSEA-PAFA because it made the map too small, so add it when you look at it.

Apparently CPZ stopped doing CYEG, so that shouldnt be in there.

Although SLC and DTW may easily appear to be a domicile, they are not. SEA LAX MSP are crew domiciles.

DFW Commuters?

Are there any DFW CPZ commuters who have successfully received a DFW employee parking pass? I am sitting in their office trying to get one and it has been a royal pain. Wondering how you did it. I even have a letter from LAX chief pilot on a company letterhead and they won't do it. Thank you in advance!

Just ask for the name and number of the lady that handles the parking for Delta airlines. Call her and you have to go to the Delta E-Crew room which is in terminal E and pick up a employee parking piece of paper. Take this to the employee parking office along with your crew badge and thats all you need.

spikemath 10-14-2015 11:15 AM

bgmann, awesome map. Thanks for taking the time to do that.
