Guys- if you have anything in the freezer you should go get it. Like NOW.

thats good. but still, its a little disconcerting that skywest was just awarded what, their 3rd or 4th straight cpa for additional flying? and meanwhile mesa and gojet securing more 76 seat flying while cpz is busy securing atp tuition reimbursement??

Skywest didn't really 'win' any flying, they bought those 175's. As far as the additional United stuff...well, I don't know if CPZ even bid for United flying.

I do think something is in the works though. I know it's nearly impossible for pilots, but...we are just gonna have to wait and see what's going on.

Most of the mainline total outsourced regoinal jet counts are maxed out. Delta is actually shrinking to their new required total regional jet count. Any new CPA you see is just replacing feed elsewhere. Whether it be other planes Skywest will park from their own fleet, or from another regional's fleet. The Compass AA birds basically replaced the Envoy feed and the 6 additional DCI planes from earlier were replacing 50-seat jets getting parked.

It doesn't really matter if Skywest bought them, or if United/Delta did. Skywest will still rely on United and Delta to sell tickets so they can afford the payments on the planes.

The first part of your statement explains why the second was deemed necessary.

Personally, Id love to see all the LAX Delta delta aircraft and flying go back to MSP or DTW. Hell, even a Chicago base while we are at it. Still have AA in LAX for all the coasties who work here, as well as DL in SEA. So many pilots and FA's here that commute(or now moved) from the Midwest it would even things out better for the group as a whole from what i have observed. Plenty of Midwest commuters to fill that kind of a shift for sure.
Oh well... One can dream! haha

Guys..ignore this clown. He's a SKW cheerleader who will still be flying for them in 10 years. His information is total BS and he's the biggest troll on this board. He knows nothing, zip, zilch when it comes to facts. Why else do you think he's trolling around the Compass thread?? Most likely because he couldn't get hired here, so he settled for Skywest.

Wait, so the guy who got banned from the Mesa thread for spewing hate and vitriol is a troll?? ;)

Not a pilot...FaceBiter is a St George pilot wanna-be cubie who trolls these boards all day. Don't feed the troll.

I'm not trying to be a douche. But I remember a handful of people really giving me the gears for picking Skywest over comped a little over a year ago.

My point is simply that you never know what is going to happen in the future and today's bust might be tomorrow's next best thing. Not that Skywest is, but it's just food for thought.

What is the point of coming on a different employers thread to spread rumors and talk trash?

Do you mean that you think you made a bad choice? I don't think you can really go wrong with either. Hindsight is always 20/20 though. If you had come to CPZ, 'a little over a year ago' (assuming you have the 121 time) you would hold CA in pretty much whatever base you wanted right now.

My friends told me about FMS programming 101; METARS, TAFs, and other basic weather 101; and Advanced Crew Concepts. I wouldn't be surprised if Flight Deck Photography was a class.

No I did not mean that. I meant exactly what you said-you just can't predict the future based on what is happening today in the regional market.

That said, you're right! I'd be a CA at CPZ. I'd still be an FO at OO if I was still there. I was lucky enough to make the right connections there that got me out ASAP. I realize not everyone is so lucky.

Right on.

Congrats with Atlas BTW, I know a couple people there and they seem very happy.

For those of you who use delta to commute, what airline code is DS?

GrassstripflyerZSE 10-24-2015 09:53 AM

That's Delta Service. DS not sure what it is, but they are above us!

zondaracer 10-24-2015 10:21 AM

It is DGS...

Fpmx772 10-24-2015 02:07 PM

That sucks that they are ahead of us. Whats the deal with american benefits for non raving? I used AA all the time at my previous 121 but now that I'm starting here no one explained to us how to utilize american non raving/jump seating...

It's all done through myidtravel. On the main page of the intranet it says in the bottom left I think something about American Airlines. Click on there and it will give you the username and password for myidtravel.

Hey guys, I've been trying to find the language regarding block or better when it comes to pay. Is it leg by leg, day by day, or the pairing? If you over block by 30 minutes between all the flights on your pairing but on the last day one flight cancels, do we lose the over block pay? Or do we still get paid? Any help is greatly appreciated.

You lose it. All you are guaranteed for is the original pairing credit.
