Hey I read in an ALPA email that an arbitrator gave you guys some contractual improvements. Do any Compass pilots have any bullet points on what the changes were?

  • Pay increase 1.25%
  • Minimum day increase to 4.0 (now includes days off away from base)
  • Per diem increase to $1.65
  • Deadhead increase to 80%
  • Vacation better (except for first year)
  • Sick accrual improved
  • Insurance premiums get worse (no pricing yet)
  • Couple extra days off a year
  • Lots more

Anyone know if the lastest recruitment drive is now winding/wound up?
MSP based with lots of jet time but not a peep from Compass

Think they slowed down the classes in late November and December. My understanding is they are picking up the classes in January for new hires, and that they will do around 20 a month through April, and then a few more scattered classes beyond that. After that, I would say they would have to start the next big wave of new hires in late 2014 so that they could be qualifying on line by early 2015, which is when the next round of flows will likely be headed to Delta. No idea if they have a pool or not, but I was told they have over a 1000 qualified applications on file.

They just secured some more SIM time in STL and I believe they will start to send some of the new hires to STL for SIM training.

I will say I knew a person that was having no luck in getting anything from Compass, but went to a job fair they were at and they liked him enough to give him an interview, and he was hired. Just a tip if you are willing to attend a job fair.

Good Luck in the application process.

FWIW when I finished my LOE in the school house a while back the APD said he was told that they have around 600 apps on file, 100 or less have prior 121 experience...

I'm an Eagle FO and applied about a month ago, got an email to interview a week ago. Scheduling an interview for January, not sure I'll take the job if offered but it can't be worse than the current situation at Eagle.

Of course I'm going to say this because I want people to keep coming in junior to me, but what other regional out there offers 120 pilot movement each year over the next 3 years.... yes assuming Delta hires, but if Delta doesn't hire they are going to have a decent size staffing issue...

I gave up 5+ years of seniority at my last airline because there was no way I was going to upgrade... Pay cut STINKS, but, here's hoping for the upside!

last I heard it was well under 50 now and prior 121 goes to the front of the line. If you're considering a lateral now is the time. 25% of the list flush every year for the next 3 years is as good as it gets.

If you get the job it's a no brainer career wise to take the Compass job. Eagle is a sinking ship. Where do you realistically think you will be in 3 years at Eagle? Baring an unforeseen disaster you will be a Captain here. Unless commuting is going to ruin your marriage I would think long and hard about staying at Eagle. Best of luck in the interview!

As of today, per the CP recruiting dept., 1,165 unreviewed/unprocessed applications on file. About 20% have 121 experience.
