I've read some guys think DTW might close in the future. Have there been any hints of this? And also...how long might it take for someone to hold a line in DTW or MSP?

I think it is a very good possibility that DTW will close. Our COO said recently that the only thing keeping it open is the flights to SDF for Maint. Find another base to feed it plus provide more flexibility operationally and it will close. Most feel it will, especially since it's down to 35 crews. Line is hard to determine with all the movement. I think most jr line holders are October new hires roughly.

Do you think they'll just shift everything to MSP or is it possible they might open a new non-western base?

If we didn't have the American flying I would say no because Delta is shifting everything west (only possibility was MCI but I guess thats off the table, maybe?). All indications show there will be another western base to support Delta. The American flying is the question mark. Really don't know where the bases will be for that.
