Nope. Skywest, ASA/expressjet, republic are not wholly owned airlines!! Those airplanes are Americans! They wouldn't be acquiring aircraft they don't own! They aren't going to let a wholly owned of deltas to operate them nor is delta going to allow their wholly owned to feed American. Doesn't work sorry. Btw I currently work for Americans largest wholly owned, do you think American would use it's resources (pilots, airplanes, flight attendants ) to allow us to feed united or delta?
Besides it's a moot point as it's not happening. You wouldn't want it to either I'd assume?

Our fleet will grow from 42 to 62 by February 2015, which is a 47.6% increase in our fleet. Our required flight crew staffing will remain virtually the same (~10.5 crews / aircraft), so our crew costs per aircraft will also remain pretty much the same. Additionally, we will continue to hire personnel (other than flight crew) to maintain and manage the aircraft. There will be proportionally fewer of these jobs since there's no need to duplicate many of these positions (Manager Flight Standards, Manager of Training, Director Quality Control, etc.) Those costs, in addition to our fixed operating costs (mtx hangars, HQ/SOC), will increase by less than 47.6%. Hence, our total cost of operation per aircraft will be lower than it is currently.

I'd assume you're referring to the days when Comair had the lion's share of DCI flying? I could understand that, I mean that's why DL currently has their hands in almost every regional airline's pie. Diversifying their regional portfolio gives DL more leverage when it comes time to negotiate CPA rates. However, with regards to Compass and the acquisition of AA lift, your point strengthens mine. We're not getting more lift for DL, hence they don't need to worry about putting all their eggs into one basket. The distribution of eggs to baskets hasn't changed. They get to keep their regional portfolio diversified, meanwhile our costs are decreasing at the expense of their competitor (AA).
