I'm optimistic. Compass has been like night and day from envoy. Best move I could have made

+1. I walked away from Endeavor with 6.5 yrs seniority. I was 50% relative and a capt prior to the 3-way merger and dropped to 80% with the ISL. After 1.5-2yrs I was down to 90% relative. Going to Compass was nerve racking to say the least. The company is night and day compared to Endeavor, the way your treated, the chief pilots are pro pilot and not pro mgmt. Just finished IOE and looking at upgrading in June/July. There's even a chance of street Capts later this summer. I know after my class there is hardly any prior 121 guys. So even getting in now will still result in a fast upgrade. And as a new hire you will be able to hold LAX from the start and SEA/MSP will be easy to hold within a couple of months, possibly even before training is finished with so much movement happening this year.

Unless it recently changed (haven't kept track of this issue in a couple years) its always been (since the introduction of the current system back in 2000 or so) two travel days were used if the takeoff and landing were in different days. IOW eastbound to Europe was 2 days, back was 1, etc.

Not missing your SSP interview and retention bonus??? Just curious how 9E guys feel about their move (the ones that left right as the bonus and SSP FO thing was announced). I left way before that, had I been in that position more recently it would have been tough.

That being said those Nov/Dec new hires (that have the 1,000 SIC) should be awarded upgrade VERY soon

All the Endeavor pilots, with the time, will be holding CA by this fall. The only thing they are missing out on is the SSP for FO's, but interviews will come much easier in the coming years anyways.

Upgrade = PIC = Job interview with major.

i wouldn't change my decision to leave 9E. PIC time makes me more marketable at all of the companies vs a 50% chance at a Delta job. With the upgrade coming in the next mo or so I'll be making more money as a captain than I would've as an FO with the bonus

I left 9E shortly before they announced the FO SSP and retention bonus. The EtD program had become a huge failure and they weren't close to filling classes. IF they announced the bonus and DL interviews before I left I may have stayed.

That said: I'm happy with my September hire date and May upgrade class. PIC helps on all apps.

I'm only half joking when i say gather all the information you can and make the best decision with what's available... then do the opposite.

The chief pilot was in the LAX crew room this week and he mentioned that one of the guys still in new hire training is able to hold upgrade now. He was talking about coming up with some kind of policy to require at least a little right seat time before upgrade.

I was hired end of 14' and can't hold CA yet. It's getting close but not down that far.
