Alternates for the award are all the way down to 12/23/15

So they haven't even been hired!! :-)

Hahaha the way these upgrade awards have been going it almost feels like they haven't been hired yet!

I hope those that are upgrading so quickly feel they are ready for it. Basically you are a street captain at this point. And you will be flying with brand new CFIs. Great to see the movement but clearly there could be some safety concerns. Fly safe everyone!

But there's something to be said about that. The last vacancy added 24 CAs and they dug deep into December 2014 to find alternates. It is very possible that they rip through 2015 hires and take it to the street shortly!

While it is exciting how fast things are moving, don't think that upgrades going to the street is anything to be excited about.
Hopefully it doesn't come to that...

so how many pilots have been bypassed for upgrade then?

Roughly 115ish after a quick count. 650ish on the list with 130 more flows this year. Last captain award went to high 400s.

Nevermind.....

Its one of those things that wont be good for anyone on the list or future fos...the movement is definitely exciting and welcome, don't get me wrong. Street captains, however, opens up a can of worms I don't think anyone really wants....aside from those who would take the slots.

But until that happens, enjoy the ride and don't worry about it :D
