Man I really hope not, seems like management probably wouldn't want to do that to themselves new years day on a Friday. I cant find the email either, hope someone here knows.

I may have asked this question about compass before, but I can't seem to recall nor find me answer... but is it (with PBS) possible to schedule yourself into large blocks of days off, something akin to 20/10 or 40/20?

If you're senior enough to bid pairings and they don't conflict with 117, maybe. I wouldn't ever plan on it.

You certainly will at times end up with 10 days off in a row, just not reliable unless you're senior. 20 is probably a lot rarer. As for the "on" part, well, 117 is gonna limit you to 6 days at a time short of a 30 hour overnight..

So if you're senior enough you can get those 30 hour overnights and continuously be on the road rather than sitting in base?

I assume seniority is moving rather rapidly.

I guess it is possible, but not very likely. Also you'd be in base in between trips, which at most are 5 days long.

The most continuous I have seen worked (not by me) was eight. Two, four day trips, back to back with thirty hours in base.

Yeah I realize this would probably be a "hellish" schedule for most, while being a perfect schedule for me. I'm not terribly familiar with 117. With Compass' PBS would structuring 3-4 four day trips in a row be viable? I assume this would force the rest of the month off.

Seniority I guess is moving rapidly (anyone can confirm?). Does the company have viable future plans for itself and/or it's pilots?

Seniority is not moving rapidly. It's industry standard at this point. There are no more "quick" upgrades. The FOs that bypassed upgrades to build their time are starting to hit that magic number. Unless we get more flying (which is purely speculative by the pilot group at this point) we are hiring for attrition.
