Says the guy judging strangers from behind a computer screen. 3rd regional? You'll fit in at Compass perfectly. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to getting an interview. Just make sure your stuff is in, because if and when Delta ever starts hiring, Compass will be a flurry of unorganized panicky action trying to fill the spots of 115 guys leaving.

Apparently there are 32 in the pool now and they are still hiring but no classes scheduled yet. It seems everyone has some type of rec, a friend of mine actually walked his resume in himself, dont know if I would do that though. They all are very friendly and looking for people, especially people in 9Es/OH predicament, so if you can manage to get a phone number or email give them a ring to check your status. Sorry thats the best I can do as far as info.

1. Once the flow starts up again, Compass will be at the job fairs. Go to every one you can find.
2. Make sure your app is up to date.
3. If that doesn't work, find the corporate hq address in MSP and send a cover letter and resume to "HR" at compass.
4. Call your ALPA rep if you have one and ask them to put you in touch with the Compass rep who does the new hire coordination for ALPA. (ALPA should be working on agreements to move pilots from one carrier to another--WITH longevity!)
5. Keep beating the bushes.
6. It took me three regionals to finally land a major job. It's worth the effort. Don't let anyone tell you this career sucks. It only sucks if you let it. Get involved. Their are ways to fix this whipsaw race to the bottom if every pilot would start trying.

This info is a couple years old, but I think it's still pretty similar. Have a good understanding of high alt./ high speed aerodynamics...just reviewing the ATP written questions is not enough. I recommend skimming through aerodynamics for naval aviators. The knowledge test seemed to be pretty random. Also, luminosity.com for the cognitive skills test. I think they have a free trial period. Personality inventory test you cant really study for. Interview is pretty common...Recall, what would you do, will you be ok with the first year pay?

Thanks! I've using the delta gouge which has a lot of that stuff in it, would you say the technical tests are comparable? Also, 30 people in a pool is a pretty small amount given the amount of time they've been holding interviews... Do a lot of people not make it through the cognitive and personality test or are most people washing out bc of the technical or HR portions?

I do not know that. When I interviewed, there were 4 of us, and only 2 of us made it past the testing to the interview. I don't think the interview has changed much since then as far as content. I think technically my test had everything from volcanic ash, to swept wing aerodynamics, to calculating lat/long distances. Our CP came to my recurrent class last week and said they had 30 something in the pool, and they plan on only 1/3 taking the offer when/if it comes. So they need a pretty big pool.
