As someone about to apply, just curious.
Yep management already told us we're losing our jobs. Oh well. Seriously? Everything's a rumor until it's true and any recruiter or regional pilot that tells you otherwise is an idiot or lying.

people seem really sure about this one but I haven't seen anything official. Until I see something linked it's just skw thinking they are getting our flying.

It's not even just BS, some people like to stir the pot, others just like gossip and will repeat it from even the most unreliable source. No one knows what's happening to any regional even a few months out. Unfortunately you are gambling with your career no matter what airline you go to. Make an educated decision and try your best to make yourself competitive so you can leave before anything bad happens.

For what reason would they, or any mainline, go to a select few? How would they benefit from it? Better performance? Cheaper for mainline? They're not going to do it just because. So what is the incentive?

It is actually Republic thinking that they are getting the E175s and Endeavor thinking that they are getting GoJet 700s and the possibility of getting 175s in the future.

Lol. Well you should have a look at the Endeavor forum, those guys are salivating over the GoJet and Compass planes. The Republic guys have mentioned that they are getting some planes this year, but they don't know from who or where, but speculation on their part seems to say Mesa.

My guess is predictable long term cost structure. It's easier to work out how much you charge with fixed, or at least negotiated labor costs.

If every time one of your regionals can't staff you have to offer an unplanned bonus your revenue is less predictable.
