Hi guys,
I will like to introduce myself! I am from France, currently flying in the UK, the E175/195 for Flybe. About 3000 FO E-jet and 4000 Total time. My wife is half American half Spanish. I just got a green card and I am sick of this Brits so I will like to try the US. I already have a FAA CPL, so to get an ATP should not be that hard...
I have a couple of questions about Compass. Since I currently fly the E-jet I think it could be an easy transition to the USA.
Upgrade: Do I meet the requirements? Or only 121 time is taken into account? The web says the most junior Command was hired 12/2015, is it only 8 months? Is the training taken into account?
Hiring Process:If I interview Sept 1st and everything goes well should I expect a class date 8 weeks latter? Once I go the 1st day to class to get my badge, I am able to go back to Europe for those 2 weeks of home study? Using Delta or American...
Staff Travel: Can my wife travel on Delta or American? Is there something like myidtravel? If is available do you have agreement with Air France? Iberia? Air Europa?
Roster: How long in advance is the roster published? Is it efficient? or you just do a couple of hours per day? Are there a lot of 5 days trips? Can I easily do 5 on 5 off?
Commute: Do we have to pay anything to be in the CASS?
Health Insurance: How much doe it cost per month for a Family of 3? Me, miss, and little boy?
Thank you so much,
I heard there is a referral bonus, if anybody wants it, please PM me their details, I am about to submit my application thru airline apps!

In the US you need a minimum of 1000hrs of FAR Part 121 time. Your time in Europe does not count for that.
Hiring Process:If I interview Sept 1st and everything goes well should I expect a class date 8 weeks latter? Once I go the 1st day to class to get my badge, I am able to go back to Europe for those 2 weeks of home study? Using Delta or American...
Class dates vary. To be honest I am not sure how far out they are going but I'm guessing 1-2 months. Yes. After the 1 day of training you will have been signed up for your benefits on Delta and AA and would be able to go back to Europe.
Staff Travel: Can my wife travel on Delta or American? Is there something like myidtravel? If is available do you have agreement with Air France? Iberia? Air Europa?
Yes. Your wife will be able to travel on your benefits for Delta and American. Each carrier has their own website that you would use to list for their flights as a non-rev. We do have agreements (ZED fares) with many other carriers. I believe all 3 of those are included.
Roster: How long in advance is the roster published? Is it efficient? or you just do a couple of hours per day? Are there a lot of 5 days trips? Can I easily do 5 on 5 off?
Schedules are normally posted the 3rd week of the month prior. In my opinion our trips are decently efficient, at least compared to my previous carrier. It really depends on seniority though. Our trip mix is anywhere from 1-5 days and vary in terms of efficiency. The 5 on and 5 off thing would not be possible until you're very senior. 12-13 days off is the norm for the junior guys.
Commute: Do we have to pay anything to be in the CASS?
No..........
Health Insurance: How much doe it cost per month for a Family of 3? Me, miss, and little boy?
I will let someone else chime in for this one but I do know that it is not the best for the price.
Thank you so much,

You'll need an FAA Multi-Engine Commercial license with an instrument rating. Make sure you have that first. You'll need to either do the ATP written course or convert your EASA atpl to FAA.
In the US, you need 1000 hours of part 121 sic to upgrade - even if you have hours from Europe. It'll take you about 18-24 months to upgrade if you enter property today. You can travel on Delta or AA as can your wife. The cbts will take you the full 2 weeks, I wouldn't do anything but during that time. Health insurance will run you around $400 or so for your family. CASS is free but delta is $50 for the benefits and AA is a little more. We use myidtravel but you're not eligible to do zed fares until you have been employed for 6 months. Roster comes out on the 20th of each month for the next month. You bid on the 10th, closes on 14th. Good luck!

Has anybody used 135 PIC time to count towards an upgrade to PIC? Technically it is allowed, but not sure if it's used at Compass.
That said, is there any need for quick upgrades still or did that ship already set sail?

I know this is a day late in response to req'd rest after a CDO, but per the contract, after a single CDO, a rest period of 12 hours must be provided. So if you actually did this, you should grieve it. Just my 2 cents.
