If there are new hires who are having issues with the new training hotel in MSP, please fill out a hotel report form on the ALPA website. It is not being a bother and if there are any issues they need to be looked into.

Any contract experts know if they can do this?

I just finished a CDO that was awarded to me as part of my July line (7/31 into the morning of 8/1) and just happened to notice on my schedule that I am on RAP3 this evening starting 10 hours after I blocked in. Can they really award reserve days on what effectively was a day with carryover from the previous month?

Sorry if this is a question with an obvious answer but I was pretty surprised to see that; it never occurred to me that that was possible

Do you mean a RAP 5? A RAP 3 would be illegal for today and give you more than 24 hours rest of its tomorrow.

No it's definitely RAP3 and definitely today, just with a modified report time to give me exactly 10hrs rest after this morning's block in.

It's a **** hole, straight up **** hole. It's dirty(!), smelly, with unresponsive staff that flat out lies to your face, and as an added bonus, unreliable shuttle service. Also, earliest shuttle is 5am no exceptions. Good luck on those very early Eagle's Nest showtimes. Huge downgrade from the Holiday Inn. A big *** to the change to this hotel.

98% certain it's legal and within the CBA.. but I'm too lazy to look right now,

I believe that's legal. If your "RAP 3" takes you into tomorrow then, per the contract, they cannot "require you to be available during more than (1) RAP in any day. So if your required to be available after midnight then you'll essentially have the rest of the day off.

When did they notify you? Or did you self notify?

I was never notified - presumably because my "August RAP Bid Award is my official notification of any first day availability obligation?" But of course there was nothing notifying me of the requisite change in my report time

Default Hiring Questions

Hi guys,

I will like to introduce myself! I am from France, currently flying in the UK, the E175/195 for Flybe. About 3000 FO E-jet and 4000 Total time. My wife is half American half Spanish. I just got a green card and I am sick of this Brits so I will like to try the US. I already have a FAA CPL, so to get an ATP should not be that hard...

I have a couple of questions about Compass. Since I currently fly the E-jet I think it could be an easy transition to the USA.

Upgrade: Do I meet the requirements? Or only 121 time is taken into account? The web says the most junior Command was hired 12/2015, is it only 8 months? Is the training taken into account?

Hiring Process:If I interview Sept 1st and everything goes well should I expect a class date 8 weeks latter? Once I go the 1st day to class to get my badge, I am able to go back to Europe for those 2 weeks of home study? Using Delta or American...

Staff Travel: Can my wife travel on Delta or American? Is there something like myidtravel? If is available do you have agreement with Air France? Iberia? Air Europa?

Roster: How long in advance is the roster published? Is it efficient? or you just do a couple of hours per day? Are there a lot of 5 days trips? Can I easily do 5 on 5 off?

Commute: Do we have to pay anything to be in the CASS?

Health Insurance: How much doe it cost per month for a Family of 3? Me, miss, and little boy?
