They are full until September and they just made the decision last week to cut them in half. It sucks but it's a fact.

By September the FO shortage will have faded (at 40 per month) and started to become a captain shortage. Do the numbers. Twenty FOs a month will sustain FO attrition while they make up for the senior guys that already have the letter they know they will be losing.

It ain't a bad thing, it's queuing theory. You really think they need to train 40 FOs a month, 480 FOs a year,on a full time basis? In perpetuity?

When was the last time Compass ever HAD 480 FOs? If they did that, upgrade time would go to ... Well, damn near as bad as for the E-175 guys at Skywest. And junior FOs would sit reserve (I know, what's a reserve?) forever.

Get a grip, people.

Ok, are you saying that starting in Sept they are down to 20 a month? Or cut the remaining summer classes until then in half as well? The first post made it sound like the latter.

They're cutting the classes to two a month for the summer and resuming normal classes in the fall.
