Compass Updates - Saga Continues

You have to be a troll. No way someone flying a plane for a living is this dumb.
Let's break it down...If you have 2 captains flying a plane how does that reduce the number of captain's required for an operation? Using math: Captain + Captain = 2 Captains while Captain + First Oficer = 1 Captain.
Knowing that we have a fixed number of flights how do you figure Captain on Captain equals less Captains?
Right seat qualifying them allows them to cover for missing guys in the right seat not limit guys getting to the left.
Think before you type.

LOL, that made me laugh, I take no offense. I never said it "equals less captains" or at least I didn't mean to, I'm saying it prolongs our current stagnation! If I as a capt fly right seat and talk my fellow capt buddies into doing the same thing to help the company with their lack of planning and FO shortage then it would therefore reduce their urgent need for FO's (for the time being). No FO's coming in the door means no upgrades, you cannot upgrade when you cannot backfill, its common sense. Its not like they are going to make everybody on property captains in order to fly them either seat, they are trying to fix the oh crap situation they got themselves into by suckering us into this. By doing so, it keeps the stagnation where its at. Lets stay in our respective seats and let them do the only thing they can to fix this which is throw a **** ton of money at it!

So just because we get paid less means we should provide a poor day's work, and if we ever go the extra mile for our customers, it makes us cool-aid drinking tools? Unbelievable. I've heard this attitude before and it's usually from Captains with 2500+ PIC that wonder "why the hell cant I get an interview anywhere?!" as they scratch their unshaven chins.
If someone's going to pay my bills, I'm going to do the best job I can for them. If I'm at work, I'm going to work. I'm not going to intentionally degrade my efforts just because I'm mad the guys at the next gate make 4x my salary.
Maybe try going above and beyond a little more, It could get you out of the regionals faster.

Completely agree... I'm a nobody and just joined the company, but coming from a long time in the Air Force and if you need to wear the hat that is what you have to do, if you don't you are not cooler or smarter... and if you keep complaining about low salary, rules and so on you better go somewhere else doing something else... just my opinion
Skywest is always hiring and their hat is optional

Yeah, because delta is pulling CVR recordings to weed out the disgruntled 2500 PIC Captains and is pulling video feeds from the gates to see if they are running down onto the ramp to find a stroller. Nice try but sadly you don't even know what you don't know. Enjoy continuing to be taken advantage of.
Just because I'm not disgruntled and lazy doesn't mean I'm being taken advantage of. Just not afraid or reluctant to follow the book and be the best pilot/person/crewmember I can be. I don't show up to a shift at work to half-a$$ it because I'm butthurt I'm not making six figures, simple as that. No one wants to be part of a crew with a guy who is going to show up with your attitude.
Please tell me more about how wearing my hat and helping my crew/operation out makes me a koolaid sipping tool
you're right I should spend my turn time staring at the PFDand grumbling about my vacation while I listen to the rest of the operation occurring around me.

Amen... and stay there as a FO for the rest of your life... there are many options and many regionals so guys don't spit on the plate from which you are eating from...like I said I don't know much about Compass and I have never dealed or worked with unions before... but I made my assessment and decided to become a FO at Compass and excited to start, if then after starting I decide I made the wrong choice or I don't share the same values, guess what.... see ya, will not spend my time complaining about my employer or management team...just my thoughts

Very easy for what I heard upgrade at compass is quicker than Skywest that is all,at Skywest they don't even have instructor to give you your ioe checkride, a friend of mine is more than a month that is waiting for the training after school .... anyway bottom line is if you are here just follow the freaking rules and enjoy your work, when you stop enjoying it it's time to change it and look for something else. I went to work for my entire life happy of what I was doing and now I'm happy to keep flying in a different way...

What is per diem rate now, did it go up with the pay raise?
Also if the block is a certain time but the flight takes longer which does Compass pay?
I got my call today (little hiccup with my application) and I interview next week. Im excited! (some of the comments here can be discouraging at times though).
Hold the line guys. Help is coming.

Congrats! IIRC $1.65 is per diem, no change with the raise, also if you overblock you get paid the greater than scheduled
