For all the FOs. Anyone else look at the open time for next month and notice the middle name of one of the CAs? How did that one slip through the cracks?!

Anyone can change their name. That being said, why would you change it to that? Some people just aren't getting enough attention...

Next would be pay, first year pay has increased substantially from the days when only one or two places were hiring, but in this environment where all the regionals are not only hiring, most are offering bonuses both for coming, then for staying (sign on and retention) those places become more attractive. Even LCC are paying more to attract talent, Allegiant is paying $96 an hour second year - with other LCCs going the same direction, enough to make a retention bonus or consider increasing CA pay to hemorrhage the losses.
Beyond that reading this thread about how the company is turning into TSA with maintenence that "deferred is preferred," or watch how you behave, or else we'll punish you is another con. An aircraft with 15 deferred items (5 MEL, 10 NEF) out of a heavy check was not what the FAA intended deferred maintenence programs for. This is not the old Compass and it's changing into a new TSA. Which is a difficulty when it comes to pay negotiations, Trans States believes the current pay package is top notch. Yet in a chief pilot newsletter they admit that "Employee recruitment can be a challenge for any company."
Long story short it's a decent place to hang out for now, but if issues aren't addressed, that may not be true in the future.

Compass will need to do something. If I was a brand new pilot with zero 121 time shopping for a regional carrier, unless I desperately wanted to be based in LA or Seattle, I'd be looking elsewhere. With no fallback of a flow however gimmicky they are, it would go on my list of cons against coming. With how the majors are hiring/will have to hire the flow times will drop, and it's a ace up the sleeve incase you're application does not get pulled at one of the others sooner.

I have a CJO with Compass to start in the next few months and I have to agree with you that I am having a few second thoughts for the exact reasons you just stated. I also have a CJO with Endeavor and the more I read on here lately the tougher the decision becomes. I'm commuting from Delta's hometown and God willing I know either course will get me there in fairly short order. I didn't have any doubts until recently that I would absolutely be better off at Compass....
I'd also like to add that having to pony up $$ for travel and hotel for the 1 day orientation has to be an obstacle for some people, luckily I can afford it but certainly don't like it. I also have a year of 121 in the CRJ under my belt to consider being useful

Also hard to turn down a nice fat 20K signing bonus at some of the Flow carriers. that and S3 level travel can make up for a little longer stretch on reserve in my book. plus another 20K after 1 year for a retention bonus.

This is coming from someone that regrets their decision to come to 9E.

I know everyone loves the should I go here or there game.. and I can't speak for the other airlines. This however is how it worked for me for everyone considering CPZ. Hired fall last year, just cracked 40k in 12 months. My 2015 is on par for 50k with two referrals ($1500 bonuses). Upgrade will be 18 months due to not having the 121 time. Reserve was 3 months. That on top of being able to fly the 175 and great west coast flying... I would still make this decision again. No we don't have flow, yes we are owned by TSH and have our fair share of problems with that... but that being said many of our captains are leaving and attrition is picking up. Is this a good wage for a regional FO? I do think overall regional pilots should be paid more but it's supply and demand and so far people are still signing up. I'm sure Compass will adjust if it becomes an issue. Would a flow be nice? Of course but it's not keeping our captains from being hired at all the different places. We have barely any lifers to count and our list moves steadily. After taxes are taken from all those other bonuses at other places I basically made a comparable wage and many if not most of my captains came from all the other regionals. To not have to put up with what they all left, Compass is a good place to come, get experience, upgrade, and move along to the majors. Is it always perfect? No it's a regional.
