Needless to say that crew got a pretty long layover in the desert.

It would be pretty funny to show up to the gate/fbo for your deadhead.

I would think it should be a contract violation because you didn't get the required 2 days off. I consider the last day of your December bid (even though it is Jan 1st) to be off limits for your January bid. It should be anyway.

What if you picked that carry in paring because it was commutable on the back end? Now they can make it non commutable? Doesn't sound right.

yea that makes sense on paper, ill have to give crew planning a call/email and see if i can get out of it haha. if anything it seems to be a fatigue issue waiting to happen with an early show to end the first pairing, and then late evening show that same day with little expectation of sleep during the day

A work block doesn't end unless you have a calendar day off. This is why you can have trips back to back and consider it one work block. There's nothing in the contract or FARs that stop this from happening. Though, it doesn't hurt to call and let them know you live an hour from the airport and you won't have an 8 hour sleep opportunity at home.

This happened to me about a month ago. Ended up with an unplanned overnight in SJC. The 88 flight number DID raise all sorts of red flags...I even called them a couple of times to clarify what was going on. Scheduling had no idea what was going on, apparently, and reassured me several times it was on the up and up. Got an acars in route once they finally figured it out.

Yea see that was my fear, that it was technically considered the same work block and therefore fine by the CBA. Maybe crew planning will have some mercy on me

Hey guys. Reserve guy here. I had a 3 day trip added to my schedule earlier this month to consolidate my 100 hours within 120 days...well my last trip was an easy IAD-MSP trip and the next day I started two days reserve. I get a call upon landing in MSP to DH to MDW and fly the first flight out in the next morning. Was this a kosher thing for scheduling to do or did I get screwed? Thanks for any insight.

Does anyone else find it odd that all the communications from the company stress that losing the 170s was not due to performance, yet during the very brief conference call it was only one of the questions?
I mean maybe people have been asking outside of that call, but we all know that they read this forum from previous confirmation codes like TillerEnvy. Is there a possibility they saw some level of concern here?

Hey guys. Couple questions. I was one of the "lucky" new hires to keep their class date. I'm the last class before the freeze which means I'll be the bottom of seniority until hiring starts again. That being said, the primary reason I chose CPS is for LAX base and a reasonable upgrade time. I keep hearing different numbers but what was the upgrade time up until the loss of the 6 170's. I understand we haven't lost them yet and they will be transitioned out into late 2017. My primary question is, should I be concerned and consider looking elsewhere? I have 3 other companies willing to class me up within 2 weeks. Skywest, Envoy, and Endeavor, so I do have options. I would imagine with the loss of ~60-80 crew slots, I should expect the upgrade to increase 4-8 months depending on attrition. This is all new to me so would appreciate any insight the group can provide. Thanks in advance.
