It's naive to think any airline would offer more per diem than they are contractually obligated to provide. Delta doesn't pay more than the agreed upon $2.70/hour for international per diem when our crews layover in Paris.
Where this will help is come tax season. It will only increase the deductibility of your expenses.

If they offer seat supports for critical pay to Pairs, I'm totally in! But to the new hires... have fun sitting middle seat coach for 10 hours and spending all your per diem by breakfast

Yeah, but you don't get per diem in training anyway and the euro is so weak right now it's a wash. Plus free trip to Paris. Like you'll really be busy that week? No.. Sims was probably the phase I was least busy. I had plenty of free time, as you already know flows callouts etc at that point so...

How many current, active pilots on the roster? CPZ page here on APC says 687 as of Dec. 31, 2015.
