If you do sit ready. Can you complain to Andrew and fill out an issue form due to the lack of adequate rest facilities.
The continuous construction makes it intolerable in that crew room, and the "rest facility" is always full with FA, random crew, and noisy construction.

I did a transcon commute for 2 years when I was involuntarily displaced to NY. Probably took 10 years off my life and it wrecked personal relationships at home. I looked terrible, felt terrible. It was Absolutely miserable and I was an athlete in great shape. Can't imagine these old guys doing it. Your Sleep is all messed up with commuting redeyes then having to work all day as well. Constantly tired. Exhausted first days off. Lost many days off per month doing this commute when you don't have many to begin with. East to West would be slightly better, but still awful.
It sounds fairly easy until you actually do it. Imagine working very early in the morning for a 10-12 hour+ day, then waiting around for a commute flight for hours, then of course you are not able to get on the first one due to other commuters or whatever reason, so wait another 2 hours. Now get on a flight in a ridiculously uncomfortable coach middle seat between two fat people and a screaming baby for 6 hours. Or worse, a 737 jumpseat for 5-6 hours. (If you haven't been in one, which I am assuming you haven't being non 121. Imagine sitting on a flat metal plate stuffed in a doorway with virtually no padding, not long enough to support you legs, then to make it worse it has a straight up and down back on it, making you lean slightly forward the entire time, and basically zero leg room.) Oh, and the old pilots can't sit through a long flight without going to the bathroom several times or eating, so you will have to twist around and maneuver yourself to fold up the jumpsuit contraption and go out several times to let them in/out, hope you didn't plan to sleep, and you will be passing meal trays over your head and likely holding onto them for a while also. It is not a pleasant experience for more than about 2 hours max, let alone 5-6 hours. Your back will be f-d up and everything will hurt after about the first 3 hours, then you still have 3 more to go. Trust me, it SUCKS.
Or going the other way, waking up rediculously early to drive to the airport and be there an hour early, then fly 6 hours very uncomfortably before your long work day even starts. 22 hour days door to door are not uncommon doing transcon commutes. You will see your lousy pay check and wonder what in the hell you are doing this to yourself for.
If you don't think it isn't a big deal, book a roundtrip ticket and see if you really want to do that 5-6 hour flight before and after long work days every week.. then add the uncertainty of a booked ticket on top of that plus assume the worst most uncomfortable middle seat on the plane is the one you will get half the time. If you can get a seat at all.
I would quit this profession before ever even thinking about doing that again to myself and loved ones.

Questions Guys.. Is getting your parents registered in Delta.Net all that's required for them to Non-Rev? If not what else needs to be done. Also is there anything required additionally with delta for us to fly international?
