I remember reading a while back that some current and former pilots at CP got a strange bill for union dues. I'm wondering did you guys ever find out if it was an error on their part or did you have to cough up the balance?
Thanks
Thanks

If you get off year 1 probation, they don't start charging you dues from your paycheck till the next calendar year begins. So for example if you got off probation in October, ALPA will send you a bill for dues owed retroactively for October-December.

Hmm. Be home more often, make 3-4x my current salary, job security, and fly bigger jets? Yeah sounds awful.

Have you flown for a pos airline before? If you hate the company you work for and everything about it then money won't make a difference. Again, every pilot I have spoken too that either works there or has worked their hated it, just saying

Because I'd much rather stay here where I can make an Applebees server salary, be away from home 200 nights a year, hear rumors that my REGIONAL airline is gonna lose half its jets every 6 months, and check my email every 10 minutes for the email from DAL that might never come. Why would I ever leave such a glamorous life to join a LCC with 6 figure FO pay that can offer me more time with my family?
Don't hate the messenger sir, just relaying every complaint I've ever heard from every current or ex pilot there, that is all...carry on plz

Maybe it's just perspective and this guy might like Allegiant. Maybe driving to work will give this guy rose color glasses enough to overlook some of the problems. Compass ain't perfect, but is it a POS airline? No, it's OK, not career airline material, but also not Mesa. Worst case Slowhawk goes to Allegiant and finds that the grass isn't greener on the other side...AA, AS, DL, UA, WN will still hire someone with 2 airlines on their resume, especially if it shows progression.
Major airline interviewer:
"Why did you leave Compass for Allegiant?"
Slowhawk:
"Career progression. Got to fly larger iron for more money with more stability until I could be here for an interview with my career airline"
Major airline interviewer:
"Why us/ leave Allegiant?"
Slowhawk:
"I've always dreamed of flying for (insert company name here)."
So you're right there is a lot of negativity around Allegiant, but if Slowhawk interviews there is no harm. Hopefully Slowhawk does the homework to make an informed decision. My advice would be to seek multiple Allegiant pilots to get a better picture of what's going on, try to get facts, ask why they hold certain opinions, is it based on any hard evidence?

Define POS airline? How about one that rolls out software which people cannot log into. How many good vs bad things have to happen to make an airline a POS vs a good company?

Anyone thinking about using Rainmaker to keep track of flight times? I used to use crewtrack and this seems like a good alternative. Seems accurate enough.
