Not really sure how you figure this. The pilot group had nothing to do with getting pennies or dollars. They have never had leverage over then, which is why I left there. JO runs that place to profit him and only him. Ask any current or ex Mesa guy, leverage on behalf of the pilots doesn't exist there.

Problem solved right? But Mesa is the easiest place to go to. Apply, phone call/interview and then a start date. Anyone with a pulse and 1500hrs can get hired there. You don't have to prep for any interview, just bro down with the dude who calls you and the job is yours.

Never said they got a good contract. All I said was hopefully their new contract is better than the old which hopefully includes better pay and better language.

Rumor flying with a training CA
they're having trouble filling classes, "not training as many as we expected"
Side note: to any flight instructors reading this: Compass was a bad place to go 6-10 months ago. The shrinking is done, the flying is great, and the attrition is phenomenal. Anyone reading this and thinking of coming to compass, now is a great time. We're losing 19+ a month. With 720 pilots, that means we're losing roughly 30% of our pilot group per year to majors and Low cost carriers. How many regionals can claim that? Anyone who starts now will find themselves half way up the FO seniority list pretty quick. Night and day compared to 8 months ago. We are 120 pilots lighter than we were in January (840), too.

I really think pay is our one big issue. Right now what do we have than that a recruiter can sell to a potential new hire? TWO west coast bases? That's great for people living in maybe a third of the country. Ok movement and about a two year upgrade? Everyone else has that.
The things that are hurting our recruitment are mediocre pay and a questionable future with our CPAs. The latter we can't really do anything about. The former we HAVE to do something about. Why there are many other things one should consider when choosing a regional the pay package really sells them. Right now ours is lagging. It has to change. There really just isnt much that would make someone choose Compass over Skywest... The other major west coast operator.

I'm sure Delta will renew, our #s are way better now. Idk about Aa but that is still 3 years out.

For someone considering coming over right now, 3 years out they're very likely to still be on the property, probably as a senior FO just about to upgrade, or a bottom of the list reserve Captain. If the company instantly shrinks to 2/3s of its former size, that's a BIG problem. If I were coming over now, I'd be really concerned about this possibility.
