When Envoy takes our planes we’ll be getting birds for Hawaiian. Mainland connection flying.
It’ll be Hawaiian “outrigger Service” (wa’a) .

Heard it from a new hire at HAL

Heard it from a new hire at Norwegian.

we all have our duties to keep the operation running. That includes scheduling. I know it's hard but you have to keep in mind it's not personal. Scheduling doesn't just say "yeah I want to screw with poser, let's junior man him." they use whatever tool they can to put out their fires.

That's not to say they don't game the system to get stuff done, and that crap needs to be called out.

I don't think that's the case at all,at least interactions I've had with them. Keep in mind they are under pressure from management to keep planes in the air and not cancel for lack of crew as that will eventually lead to our performance metrics set by our codeshare partners to nosedive and then we will end up getting ExpressJetted when we fail to make contractual goals. yes, getting junior manned sucks, but unfortunately it's the nature of the industry. Planes break, weather goes to ****,our peers call in sick, etc.

This is it Compass cares about two entities: Delta and American no more and no less. Their objective is to provide reliable lift at all costs. They have zero obligation to follow the CBA they know how weak the union is and will continue to ignore the CBA to fulfill their needs.

The Company, in fact, has an explicit obligation to honor the CBA.

Their incentive to honor it? Another story.

when one calls scheduling the person who answers the phone is just as much "the company" as you are.

Exactly. We’re paid to do a job. Sometimes that means putting in overtime. Happens at every job. Such is life. Everyone needs to take a little ownership; if we don’t move planes, were ALL out of a job.

There is quite a bit of contract language regarding junior manning and I suggest we all get up on the rules. It used to not happen like this before where it's all the time, so it wasn't a focus point for me, but it needs to start being one..
I got junior manned out of order and grieved it with alpa. Hoping something comes from it but I'll probably be out of here before I can use a single one of the probably 10 incoming comp days.
