Provided the guy you work for is decent, then union is not needed. Unfortunately not the case in many circumstances.
On another note, this job just popped up and I see there are several guys who seem to be in the known for this flight department. My question is, What is the pay?? How many guys are crewed /plane and therefore what is the companies view on pilot monthly utilization i.e 18 days/month.
Thanks

Pay is in the ball park with all the big salary studies, as far as being a pilot, other duties not factored in. 1 hard day off per month, can be pulled. You ask about the companies view on pilot utilization, be proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.

So are they asking you to do manuals? or aviation study projects and make presentations??? or is it basically when you ain't flying, you're in the office assisting with admin duties, whatever they may need at the time.

I don't work for Koch, however, I do work for a large Flight Department in the Midwest. When you mention anti-enviroment, that is very interesting. I know nothing about Koch's flight department, although, like many other large departments they probably treat you quite well. I do have perspective to speak from as I have been in 4 different pilot unions (Multiple ALPA's and an independent). What I have learned from my current company is that when they treat you very well, take safety seriously, and see you as a valuable assest, then a union is not neccesary.
So back to my original point; you say anti-environment as though, if you have no union, then you are anit-environment. I have never worked in a better environment in my life than where I am now, and guess what, they are anti-union. Why? Because it is not nessecary, as we are all treated very well, therefore we work hard in return. It's not magic, the airlines and others just haven't figured this out yet.

Curious Red, what airline or airlines did you leave for the corporate world? Thx

Doing some searching today, they have a current ad for Copilots on careerbuilder.com but nothing on their corporate hiring page. As an outsider I'm intrigued by the argument that the job must not be good if they resort to advertising it on job sites. Any current or former Koch employees willing to comment?
