I stand corrected. But my point wasn't whether the time is loggable or not, but where do you cross the line when it comes to paying for flight time or getting compensated as a professional?
I don't care if it's a university- they're flying a jet (and presumably not just for training, but to carry university officials). They shouldn't be paying for the time. If you want to make it an internship, so be it- but the pilots should be getting SIC types and not have to fork out cash to get time in a jet.

In regard to paying for the jet time, let's put something in perspective. These are 250 hour pilots with a ME rating and no ME time, an inst rating and no inst time, CRM training and no crew time, a CJ SIC endorsement and no jet time. To get 20-30 hours of real world passenger carrying jet time at that experience level is a rare opportunity and a great resume enhancer.
As far as logging the SIC time, the C525 is an either/or airplane: single pilot if the PIC has a C525S type rating, or two pilots if the PIC has either type rating. If the PIC is qualified by FAR 61.58, and the SIC is qualified by FAR 62.55 it is definitely logable.

You can log whatever you like, but the airlines/flt departments who hire the "graduates" of this school might not like the time. The insurance companies might not like the time. I would hope the Dean of the aviation school would make this an internship/co-op option for the students.
This is how the industry got its pay for training / training contracts. How is a company supposed to pay for services rendered by "professionals" if the schools training those professionals will not do the same.
Shame on you for taking advantage of your pupils whom you are supposed to teach.
