Default Need some advice

I currently fly a Baron and a King Air 350 part 91 and make about 55K a year. I am captain on both planes but I fly the baron at least 75% of the time. I have a job offer to work as king air captain for a charter operator for 45k a year. Do you guys think it is worth the pay cut to be able to log more turbine time? I only have about 800 turbine right now, I hear that it takes about 1500 or better to get a good job these days. I can't make up my mind what to do.

How quickly are you accruing turbine time currently? I would be hesitant to lower your bar, particularly if you are already qualified in the aircraft. 45K to be a CA on a 350 seems a bit thin if you ask me, particularly for somebody that already has a type rating and significant experience in type.

45K for a 350 PIC is a low ball offer.......sounds like they want something for nothing.

I currently log about 150 hours a year in the 350, the new job would be flying a 200 and a 90 for a 135/mangement company about 400 hours per year. I know 45k is cheap for a captain but I can't find any better paying jobs anywhere. If there wasn't so many pilots out there who are happy to work for poverty wages, these companies would pay more.

Haven't you just answered your own question? Or will you lower the bar solely to increase your turbine time?

What keeps you out of the 350 at your current job? Is this a situation that could change any time soon? Is there a 350 sic that is ready for a Baron pic upgrade? Do you like it there otherwise? Do they like you? Could just be a situation where they trust you in the Baron and don't realize how it's making you feel.

I'd work those angles first before making a change you could regret.
