There’s a plan. It’s pretty good IMO. Stay home till end of April if your not essential. After that it’s soft openings that are state dependent implemented by the governors. Using common sense. I.e. social distance when able, no large crowds, and no hand shakes. This whole time implementing massive testing. Can we at least get past April without arguing politics? Both sides need to be putting forth thier best ideas then implementing them ASAP.

The flaw in the argument that we should have just let the virus just run it’s course is nobody will ever know how that would have played out? If the majority of the population became sick in roughly the same period of time the economy would have tanked anyhow. We do know that. I’ll bet you it would have topped 140,000 deaths had we done nothing. Fortunately we’ll never know.
I don’t get this false choice either. It’s like the world must be one way or the other. This is an absolute false choice and we should call BS on those asserting it as an option. Passenger counts dropped off, the NBA closed, casinos closed, all happened BEFORE any politician acted. If even those private actors hadn’t acted, as soon as people started dropping in larger numbers, or getting turned away at hospitals, and when more cities looked like Italy or NY, there is no way John Q Public was going to “keep on keeping on”. And who knows how long THAT recovery would take? We elected and empowered leaders for a reason. Many people didn’t want to enter WWII, either, and were inconvenienced by their businesses being taken over by the government or the war ending the lives of them or loved ones. The remedy is to vote in other people who will manage the crisis better, not convince ourselves we are smarter than experts empowered in the system under which we agreed to be governed. This is like whining about the rules in the Super Bowl. Petition the commissioner, appeal, or cry to the media, but do it AFTER THE GAME. Suck it up, we are all in it together and we will all get through it together. |

Experts must always be subject to scrutiny, because in spite of the title "expert," they are fallible. Experts are experts, by definition, in a very specific field of study. They are useful for that precise purpose, beyond that they must be balanced with wider perspective. The answer is not only elections either. US policy has been moved many times by 1st amendment demonstration and protest. It's part of who we are as a nation, body and soul, for better of worse. Blind obedience is stupidity. |

Don't panic but your about to get furloughed. That’s funny. Who’s the one panicking again? We knew the mortality rate would decrease once we actually started testing. We knew that well over a month ago. This is good news, we can start to open up again. What’s the problem? If your argument is we should have never shut anything down I’ll just have to disagree. No problem. |

Oh wow. Another ignorant indoctrinated millennial polluting this forum. Defending a person's unalienable rights is not false machismo. Quarantine is when you restrict the movement of sick people. Tyranny is when you restrict the movement of healthy people. Thats what you are supporting. Are you working at the present time? Spelling error aside, it is a true statement. We can either stay home or get out and get the economy going again. I am sorry that 2016 ruined your life but it greatly improved mine. |
Still waiting for people to use the 2nd amendment like they claimed they would

Your inalienable rights end the moment you infringe on others' rights to safety. Driving drunk is illegal because it infringes upon others. So is being a dumbass in a pandemic. I would be all for your rights to expose yourself to COVID, if you weren't a contagion threat to others. Your coworkers. The liquor store clerk where you go to buy your handles of Wild Turkey. The nurse who will try to save your foolish ass when you inevitably come crawling to the hospital. If you could guarantee that you wouldn't expose anyone else, then you have my blessing to go remove yourself from the gene pool in the name of capitalism. 3. I am a little shocked that so many pilots are so foolishly brazen during this crisis. One of the key responsibilities of our jobs is THREAT MANAGEMENT. And ya'll are turning off the radar as you approach a line of thunderstorms. |

If so you are a hypocrite. Oh but it's an essential service??? Well YOU should quit because you are putting your income above the health of others. Sounds like a bad case (that many of you leftist suffer from) "OK FOR ME BUT NOT FOR THEE".. Quit being a Karen. No one is putting anyone's life in danger by going back to work. If you are scared then stay home. If you are working then shut it and quit infringing on people's rights. It is disgusting. 3. I am a little shocked that you actually write a check each month to pay for that student loan. You might can win a spelling bee but you got a bad dose of socialist indoctrination in the process. https://babylonbee.com/news/infograp...-actually-mean |

It’s not revisionist history, he’s actually correct. The political parties are just shells, the constituencies move around through the years. Rather than focusing on the party names the key is to focus on a constituency like social conservatives. Prior to LBJ, social conservatives were Democrats but since then they’ve become almost exclusively Republicans. Strom Thurmond is a great case in point. We’re in the middle of another major reshuffling of the parties and their constituencies now with Trump’s Republican Party.
