Yeah he/she used pretty inflamatory language but the point is valid...that there are certainly agendas out there.

People who take Fauci et al on face value are just as at fault of not using critical thinking than those who take Fox and CNN on face value.

The lockdown certainly delayed it a little bit, but we will probably be trending to zero in as little as three weeks. I assume that's why there is such a hard push for masks, because the "experts" want to take credit for the results.

The next time you have a surgical procedure tell the doctors and nurses not to wear a mask. Then report back with the results three days after your surgery.

As for the general reluctance to get onboard with social distancing, mask use, lockdown etc, can someone tell me what you know that most other countries don’t know?

I’m in Europe now and people are wearing masks indoors and social distancing. They have YouTube here, and they have Google. So I can assume they’ve seen the quack doctors and really weighed the study from the interwebs on why masks are a dumb idea. Yet they reached the same conclusions as we did (aside from some leaders) in the US.

In Italy, where they aren’t willfully ignorant, they went from THE hotspot to 114 cases yesterday. Their sports leagues are playing, their schools will open. They’ll have problems in the future, but likely nothing like we will in the USA. They have 3x the population of Florida and 2x that of Texas with a higher density.

So, presumptive pilot, what do you “know” that none of the people in the medical business know?

On another note we will all have time to debate these theories when we are furloughed because people decided to try to flaunt every expert because wearing a mask was too hard.

Look, there will NEVER be enough police to enforce every Public Health mandate. Making Public Health pronouncements work depends upon educating the public and the public having faith in the public health officials.

I understand there was a shortage of N95 masks and a supply line problem since the Chinese literally turned around ships bringing these supplies to the US. And I understand that it was advisable that the better (ie, n95 masks) be reserved for the healthcare workers fighting on the COVID front lines, but whatever idiot decided to tell the public that wearing masks was NOT Protective, not advisable, and might even predispose the wearer to infection, was an idiot. I don’t CARE that people were hoarding butt-wipe, they should have been told the truth - that, yes, masks are good, but they are in short supply and until we can make more, just improvise with a bandana.

By starting up on the whole mask issue with a bald faced lie (no pun intended) the CDC screwed the pooch. When you start out deluding people - even for a good reason - you sacrifice the credibility and consistency you need to make public health directives work.
