Some of this summer’s travel was unexpected and booked on short notice, but I am having difficulty imagining us getting much higher than 25% of last year’s total daily pax numbers during fall/winter unless some miraculous and/or unforeseen event occurs. (No significant second wave this fall, fear levels subsiding after the first week of November, quick and effective treatment discovered, etc)

Along with Gilead's drug for treatment..
I think it was last Thursday or Friday, CNBC attributed the rise in that days markets directly tied to Phizer/Gilead vaccine discussions.

There has been plenty of vaccine talk lately.. Phizer/BioNGen has one going into Stage 3 trials I believe (something about 30,000 vaccine subjects to start soon, results within a few months. Expecting vaccine available in December).

FWIW my wife works for a major university that as of today is opening This fall. Thier plan includes testing every student and facility member prior to opening. We’re talking 100k plus. Her boss asked a group of research doctors that are currently researching the virus if they should spend 4 million for a test machine that has the ability to produce results in hrs not days. The university would take delivery early October. They told him don’t bother. It’s going to be obsolete early next year due to a vaccine being available.

We're always surprised when the outbreak outlasts our "estimations."

There's a disturbing trend of decisions being made that assume this crisis will be over in a short amount of time. It's preventing us from making real progress because we're unwilling to take big steps in confronting the virus.

just passing along some information I took as positive. Don’t really want to argue about it. Back to your argument with Excargodog I guess? Out.

Schools and universities this Fall will be dangerous hot spots if left unchecked so not sure what those docs are talking about. That is if they even open. Add in the flu season and it will be a long winter.
