Which, even if true, doesn’t change the concerns. Or whatever the reality really is.

You’re not going to get the herd immunity you’re thinking of. As it says in the article they tried that but places abandoned it right away when they realized this isn’t the flu.

What herd immunity do you think I’m thinking of getting?

Where you said let it run wild it's ok to kill off Americans in the name of herd immunity. That doesn’t ring a bell? Just trying to figure out all these posts about us not getting a vaccine, you’re still very adamant.

Many people already have immunity to COVID even before exposure.

A scientifically inaccurate article. Antibodies decline to undetectable levels with time (not a bad thing) and the article totally disregards memory B and T-cells which are crucial in long term immunity.

As far as Sweden goes, their fatality rate the last few weeks is about the same as New York State’s. And yes, indeed their economy wasn’t nearly as damaged.

It’s definitely possible COVID will be around indefinitely, even with a vaccine. Perhaps it’s time the vulnerable dealt with it and accept responsibility instead of trying to force the risk upon the rest of society?

Correct. I’ve actually been following this closely because it links closely with my genealogical research regarding Y DNA and mtDNA haplogroups. There is a geneticist/virologist who I follow closely named Spencer Wells. He is a Texan, but is self isolating in Lombok, Indonesia with his wife. He seems to think that southeast Asians and, to a lesser extent, East Asians have more of a built up immunity to various corona type viruses because they may have been circulating in that part of the world in their unique species of bats. Some of the haplogroups that predominate in that part of the world could also confer a certain amount of disease resistance as well.
