I think we're already at least halfway there on both sides of the great divide. It's getting pretty hard to find people with a well reasoned, nuanced position on any issue.

You're right. You'd think with all this technology we could advance beyond what we were over 100 years ago.
But we're the still the same stubborn, hairy monkeys we've always been.
For the first time in history we're living through a pandemic while global airlines exist. The consequences won't be known since we have no comparison.
It's a shame for our careers that our sensibilities didn't keep pace with our technological achievements.
